Our day on the road to Hana was nothing short of magical from start to finish. To start, our guide, Spencer was so warm and welcoming. He made us feel comfortable right away which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. My partner and I had both been on the Road to Hana before but Spencer was so knowledgable about the different sights, plants, locations and more - I came away from our time together with so many fun facts which made the journey come alive in a whole new way! He was also so responsive to what we were interested in and had great ideas to accommodate our requests - we had some ideas going into the experience but we were also open to new ones! There were even some things we thought we wanted and Spencer was quick with "If you like that, you might like this" ideas, which is always awesome - there were many things we would not have known about if not for him! We had sufficient time at each location and each stop was fabulous whether it was a short stay or longer. We never felt rushed but we also never felt bored, staying somewhere for too long. Spencer did a great job keeping us on track for our day and set expectations with us, letting us know how we could make sure to fit in our highest priorities, timing wise. He was also great company - there were just two of us so would be pretty awkward to have a full day of silence riding in the car - ha! This was not the case - Spencer was engaging and we had a great time getting to know him. If you just have one day on Maui, this is an excellent way to spend it. The Road to Hana can be intimidating to drive on your own and it was so nice to not have to worry about driving ourselves. We felt very safe the whole time and while it is doable to drive yourself, it was so much more enjoyable to relax, stress free & take in the sites which totally changed the experience. Would highly recommend Experience Hawaii Tours if you are looking for an unforgettable day on Maui!

Last thing to know - they will text you the day before and give you tips for what to bring/what to expect etc which was super helpful! Definitely be prepared for a little rain but also sunshine. Doesn't hurt to bring an extra pair of clothes if you get caught in some rain. But if the forecast says rain - don't worry about it :) that's just a part of this piece of the island and makes it that much more of an...

I never write reviews. I had write this for Experience Hawaii. My family had the most mind blowing beautiful day and we almost made a critical mistake by driving the road to Hana ourselves. That is why I’m writing this. Booking this tour was the best decision of our Maui Vacation. Be a ā€œHeroā€ instead of a ā€œZeroā€ and book the ā€œRoad to Hanaā€ tour NOW. Why? #1 Safety! The road is scary with many cliffs and one lane sections. Not only will you have a safer trip but no one will be yelling at you (your wife and kids) about on your bad driving and parking. It is also a very long day. I can’t imagine driving that road for 10-11 hours myself. Yes, that is how long you will be driving. Your guide will do it all for you, safely, allowing you to stick your head out the window and enjoy the ride. Man, if I was driving, then the day would have been much different. Listen to me. Let the pros drive. #2 Breathtaking Stops. You will avoid the crowded touristy stops and go right to the heart of Hana. You are about to have the most special day of your life and I guarantee they will take you to most beautiful little adventures you will ever have. Don’t waste your time with guessing where to go and miss the most beautiful and secluded waterfalls and beaches. #3 Tasty local food. Your guide will know what food stops to hit and what ones to avoid. We ate the most delicious fruits, amazing Thai food and of course, banana bread. So there have it, the top 3 reasons to do the ā€œRoad to Hanaā€ tour. Safety, amazing food, and the most breathtaking adventures. Did I mention safety? Oh yeah, another tip I would have never done. Stop and buy local bouquet of flowers for some one you love. Most beautiful fresh bouquet for just $8 and you again are instant Hero! It was a classy way to remember our day. See these guys are pros. Seriously, the Road to Hana is one thing you really need to hire out. Koby was our guide, is a pro and is now part of the family. My wife, 2 sons and I had the most amazing day of our lives. Honestly. We always felt safe jumping into pools with his guidance. And the owner, Mikey is the nicest guy. Such an awesome, professional group of people. Everybody is awesome at Experience Hawaii Thanks for the most special day of our Maui vacation for my family. Peace, love...

We recently had the most incredible private tour with Experience Hawaii, led by our fantastic guide Michael, which covered the Road to Hana and the Haleakalā Summit at sunset. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable adventure.

Michael went above and beyond in catering to my limited mobility throughout the tour, ensuring I could experience everything we had planned without feeling rushed or left out. He was incredibly thoughtful in adjusting the place and finding accessible paths, making sure I didn’t have to skip any of the beautiful sites, from the sea turtles to the waterfalls and the Haleakā Summit. His care and flexibility made the tour both comfortable and memorable.

The day began with an early stop at a secluded beach where we spotted sea turtles, an experience that set the tone for the day. Michael's knowledge of lesser-known locations really made this tour special.

Next, we ventured through the lush rainforest, and Michael made sure we got some beautiful photos with the stunning rainbow eucalyptus trees. Their vibrant colors were even more striking in person!

Along the way, we visited numerous breathtaking waterfalls, each more serene than the last. We even had the opportunity to enjoy a private black sand beach—an exclusive moment that felt like our own personal paradise. A highlight of the tour was our stop at Lualima Farm Stand, where we tried the "miracle berry" experience and bought blue ice cream bananas. The miracle berries made sour item taste sweet, adding a unique twist to an already exceptional day.

As the day came to a close, we ascended to the Haleakalā Summit just after sunset, with the sky ablaze in colors that only added to the surreal beauty of the island. Michael’s timing was impeccable, allowing us to avoid crowds and fully appreciate the peaceful, majestic view from the summit.

Michael’s passion for Hawaii and attention to detail made this tour truly outstanding. If you're looking for an immersive, private experience that highlights the hidden gems of Maui, I cannot recommend this...
