Koa Swim School — Local services in Oʻahu

We usually do lessons with the Parks and Rec dept but with Covid those stopped. I wanted my 6 yo son to continue improving with swimming (we do live in Hawaii after all) and I saw someone suggest Koa Swim School on Facebook. I was a little skeptical at first but it was a great experience. Erin did a great job making instructions very easy for kids to understand, she adjusted each kids’ activities to their levels, and she was great at communicating when things came up. While we aren’t able to make it to lessons right now, my son has great memories of his months there and I’d definitely recommend it for parents who want their kids to learn or improve swimming. We loved our swim lessons with Erin and Koa! It was such a fun experience for my son to learn at the beach in the ocean! Erin us wonderful, patient and knowledgeable. My son learned a lot and became more confident in the water in just 10 lessons. We spaced them out due to my sun not being a 100% read at the time we chose to start and Erin was so flexible and understanding about that! I wish we could do more lessons but we leave island soon. I’m grateful for these lessons that helped my son grow confidence in the water and for the time Erin took to teach him. We will miss our Friday lessons with Erin and Koa but we will be forever grateful for our experience and gained knowledge. Mahalo...

We had a great experience with Coach Erin and Koa. I brought my 10 month old and 4 year old. 4 year was comfortable in water but zero ability to float or swim. By the end of 10 classes, the 4 year old can float on her back and do a doggie paddle. The baby is now comfortable being dunked under. This is the only place that allowed me to bring both kids. The location and times were convenient, parking was never an issue. I plan on bringing the baby back again in 6 months.
