Google reviews are a great resource but can be VERY one sided. There are several reviews from clients complaining however, there always 2 sides to each situation and they are not completely factual.
If you bring in one more than patient to see the dr, get diagnosed or receive medications; you would be charged for each patient seen. Just as you would with a human dr. A client/patient/vet relationship must be established.
Mayflower is a small general practice with 3-4 staff members taking care of a VERY high volume of clients/patients. Being privately owned, Dr. Wadley is able to keep prices low. You may experience a brief hold (or extended, depending on the day) when calling in, but a little grace and patience is highly appreciated. Receptionists are often answering multiple calls at once while checking in/out clients in clinic. If you feel rushed, “Hung up” on, or as if your questions were not answered, instead of leaving a negative review; try reaching back out and following up. (I can assure you no one on staff intentionally would hang up on a client.) Despite those hold times, staff can typically able to get you a appt within 24-48 hrs, if not the same day.
The staff are all great people who genuinely care about you and your pets. Not one of them is spitefully being rude, a jerk or intentionally creating a problem. Communication is so important and if you felt you didn’t have a good experience, just as any other business, the clinic would like to have the opportunity to improve.
The vet med industry is a very toxic environment, with a VERY high suicide rate. They meet their patients as puppies and often euthanize them as seniors. They aren’t able to save all their patients and often carry that weight home. Some cases still affect staff years later. Some clients add unnecessary grief to overworked, often underpaid and understaffed clinics. Be kind. Be Considerate. Understand that your staff may have just had to put a patient to sleep right before you called or came in and they’re doing their best to hold it together. Consider and understaffed front desk staff trying to juggle 5 phone lines and clients in clinic.
Mayflower is improving more and more each year. All clients are greatly appreciated, and we love seeing all those fur babies. We have SO many clients who haven’t posted their experiences who could provide you with 5 stars ratings. Don’t let a few bad reviews stop you from coming to mayflower animal clinic.
There should honestly be an app where clients can be rated just as the businesses are bc I can assure you ATLEAST 5 of the negative reviews I read in the past couple of years are not...
Read moreIf I could choose a negative star I would. If you have a perfectly healthy animal that only needs annual vaccinations, this could be your clinic. However, if you have a sick animal, please take your animal somewhere else. I took my dog to them at 7:00 a.m. to be checked out due to rectal bleeding. It was clear that I was there before the “Miss Personality” (the receptionist) was ready to start her day as she was rude and informed me that since I didn’t have an appointment, she would have to be seen in between scheduled appointments. Ok..fast forward a bit, I called at 8:30 to check on my dog; once again ,rude person let’s me know that SHE will call ME if there is any news. Nothing. I call at 11:30 to be told the exact same thing. No lab work, no diagnostic testing, nothing other than they were giving her fluids. At 3:00 p.m. my husband goes there to see if he can get answers only to be told by “Doc” they he’s worried about her but he’s leaving for the day so we could take her to the emergency clinic if we wanted to spend the money. He picks her up, takes her to the emergency clinic. My dog would have been dead within 2 hours and would have spent the night in that cold crate by herself for me to get a call this morning to inform me she had passed. St the emergency clinic, she is in shock, unresponsive and barely alive. THIS clinic immediately took her back started testing and got her back to a point of being responsive, pink tongue again and her temp getting close to normal. They diagnosed her with two conditions that ARE survivable if treated early. Fast-forward to 11:15, our precious girl passed away. The whole point here is that she sat at this stupid clinic for 8 hours bleeding and no treatment other than fluids and had they called to tell us before WE called them to tell us she needed emergency treatment we would have immediately taken her there and I have no doubt she would still be alive today. I will not take another animal here nor will I ever, ever recommend them, quite the opposite. Dr. Wadley, your friendly personality isn’t what’s important here, your competency as a Vet is far more important. Also, you might consider replacing the hateful mess at...
Read moreI'm a little disappointed in this vet. This was our first time using their boarding services. When I made the appointment to have my babies boarded for a week, they told me to make sure I have shot records or they must have their rabies tags on. Both of my animals wear their tags at all times, along with their name tags. When I took my babies in, they asked that I leave my cat kennel and the dog leash. They assured me they would put it on top of their kennels in the back. The vet was great about calling me (while I was on vacation) when they noticed my cat scratching her ear often. They did a quick exam and discovered she had a double ear infection. I instructed them to give the medication to her that she needed for the infection. My disappointment came when we picked our babies up. Our dog was missing her leash, her collar, her name tag and her rabies tag. No one seems to know where it is or what happened to them. They claim that I must have taken it with me. I absolutely did not, they requested that I leave it for them. When I dropped my animals off, I walked my dog in on a leash and I never took the leash off of her. Minor incident, however had the receptionist been a little more compassionate and not so adamant that she was right no matter what, I could have let swept this incident under the rug and not write a review. Several bucks later and a call to her ordinary vet (Hartman's, they no longer board), we are now set again. I will be finding a new boarding facility...
