This a really nice, clean gym. I signed up a week ago for the premium elite membership and everything went well during sign up.
I do have a complaint about the WiFi and being misinformed by the staff. Upon signup (and getting charged a little over $60 for initial sign up fees plus membership) one of the primary reasons I signed up was for access to the gym WiFi. Especially since my connection is shoddy in certain areas of the gym and I do not want to rack up a huge data fee on my cell phone bill.
No one seems to know the password for the WiFi which pops out on my phone as Fitness-19 and Fitness-19 5G. One of the Team members at the Gym tried telling me they didn't offer the service, and another team member said they did but didn't know the password. At one point an assistant manager connected my cell phone and it automatically connects but states "connected, no internet," and when I asked the team member for the PW again, she stated she didn't have access to it.
I strongly suggest that the owners/management make the password available to their team members to give out to customers who are paying monthly for this benefit. Members who should have access to the WiFi should be able to connect, or if the service is currently unavailable have a target date for when it should be available.
Thank you, and if management would like to message me over this concern I would really...
Read moreThis gym is equipped with enough machines and free weights to give you a full body workout as well as cardio machines. It is always clean, however, there is 3 negative remarks about it.
the gym is too small for the amount of members they have. Usually around 4-11pm, good luck finding weights. Perhaps the owner of this franchise gym should consider expanding, moving to a bigger place or limiting the amount of members they enroll.
the gym members themselves are filthy. No gym etiquette whatsoever! RERACK YOUR WEIGHTS AND CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT YOU SWEAT ON! Because of limitation in gym equipment, LIMIT YOUR SETS! OTHERS WANT TO USE THE WEIGHTS AND MACHINES.
The majority of big dudes here try to intimidate beginners or others smaller than themselves. I mean, really mate? Do you feel superior by doing such thing?
If you think youre big enough to intimidate others, please step into The Mecca of Bodybuilding (Golds Gym Venice).
If you are in any way unsatisfied by the gym, you want to cancel the membership and they have your bank account number, dont forget to cancel your card and put a stop payment with your bank on any future automatic withdrawals...
Read moreI have been a member of Fitness 19 in Maywood for 5 years now and was practically my second home. It saddens me to say I will have to cancel and change gyms all because of their manager Wendy. I decided it was time to bring my son to help boost his confidence as it did for me. It’s disappointing how much harassment and bullying I had to deal with each time I walked into that gym with him. My son’s biggest insecurity was always his height since he has always been shorter than his peers. Every time I walked into that gym I had to face Wendy questioning me how old my son was, after answering her and giving her his date of birth she would continue to make negative remarks in front of my son about how he’s so small. I let it go the first time, but to be questioned 5 separate instances each time commenting in front of my son how he is so small was the last straw for me. I brought him to the gym to build his confidence and to have a grown woman managing this gym put him down and add to those insecurities is unacceptable. We should be celebrating kids wanting to be healthy and active and not giving them reasons to not want to...
