My mother has been here twice for rehab after a surgery or a hospital stay. The first time 2011, was a wonderful experience and very helpful in Getting her moving. This time, Nov 2017, was absolutely horrible. They food was constantly burned. She ate cereal for every meal, or a stale sandwich. She got bed sores, they did a good job of transporting her to and from dialysis, which was a bus service that works with them. But they did not encourage her to dress herself (for lack of time), which she has done mostly, cannot do now. They neglected to shower her regularly, and the time They did, they got water in a heart cathadar tube. Almost breaking 2 dialysis machines and almost killing her. They threw her walker away, with no warning, or asking her caregiver. We cannot get a new one for another couple years. She is weaker than when she got there. She refused therapy, as soon as she got back from dialysis, because of being tired and didn't get a chance later. The dr, decided to play GOD, and took her off the meds she needed to even be able to do anything, put her on ones that made her sick, and wondered why she was sick. Then put her on Regulin, that is clearly marked on her file, she is highly allergic to. All with out a word to her caretaker or primary dr. So she came home, in worse shape, they kept her the whole 30 days to milk the insurance, worse then when she went there. Having horrible reactions from the Regulin. Yelling da, da, da, constantly, because she can't hear, and it is a side effect of the med she was allergic too. If you send a loved one there, please be vigilant to check on them daily and ask as many questions as possible, especially of the Dr. Because they don't tell you what he does, had to find out well after she was gone from the visiting nurse. She will never go...
Read moreMy Dad, 95 years old, experienced 2 falls in six months and both times was at Autumn Wood for Rehab. The first time he was there, it felt like he was family. He was treated with kindness and love. The staff there are incredible people, who work so very hard. I live out of town and visited often, and believe me, called often to check on him! They were also respectful of my concerns and always followed through with any of them. I was impressed by their ability to manage their residents and also show the care for my Dad. I am forever grateful for their support, service and dedication to assisting in my Dads recovery. I do have to thank Day nurse Renae Eisenga I say “save the day Renae”, love her! She lights up the room when she comes in and literally takes control and then fixes anything with a smile, adds humor that is infectious! Willa, you are an amazing human thank you for your Grace and Papa adores you! Angie!!! you are my hero and cannot thank you enough for your care. Kara from therapy, you just Rock girlfriend ❤️. Amanda, Curtis and everyone appreciate you all he is doing great and you all deserve a...
Read moreMy mom was there from the sixth to the 17th less than a month. She lost 25 pounds. The nurse would put her in a wheelchair and make her sit by the office. She was being too loud. The nurse responded as I threw the book at her to keep her quiet. They lost her personal blanket with all her kids names on it, they took her TV. when she hit the call button, it took over 45 minutes for them to come in the room once I came in they had her neck brace upside down. The nurse explained to me that she’s overwhelmed and they need to hire more help. On the 10th when I told him not to give her any more pain medicines because she was not in pain they were using it to keep her quiet. She immediately started to walk three days later and when they told her she wasn’t making enough improvements by the 17th. She was doing 45 steps he said that wasn’t enough improvement. It was a terrible experience horrifying. I took my mom out of there in two weeks. She gained 12 pounds and was doing 145 steps for me. Beware before you take your loved ones...
