A Local Gem with Excellent Service and Selection
Thompson Hardware in McCormick, SC, is truly a standout business that proves the value of a local hardware store. Every time I visit, I'm greeted with a friendly, welcoming smile. Kim Powell and the other staff here have a remarkable, helpful demeanor that makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for, no matter the project.
Beyond the exceptional customer service, what truly impresses me is the store's full and complete selection. Despite its local feel, Thompson Hardware seems to have everything you could possibly need, from simple tools and fasteners to specialized gardening supplies and paint. I've never left empty-handed. It’s clear they go the extra mile to stock a wide range of items, saving you a trip to a larger, more impersonal big-box store.
Thompson Hardware offers the perfect combination of small-town charm and a truly comprehensive inventory. I highly recommend it to anyone...

All other employees have been nice and courteous, but every time I've interacted with the owner it seems as if my coming in the store has created a hardship for him. Restructure pricing to be a bit more competitive and restrict the owner from interacting with customers and shopping here would be a much more...
Read moreIt's no longer old Maurice whites hardware. ☹️ To be completely honest the hardware store knows its the only option you got unless you intend on making a trip to greenwood augusta or Abbeville. Which is about 30- 45mins worth of driving to our 26-40 miles. And knowing that. They are certain to take full advantage of that in their pricing. Yet still Mr, white was the main reason I would stop in and burn the money. Just to see Ole Mr white. Might be slightly overpriced but still worth making Mr. White have to put up with my axx for a extended period of time each and every time I decide to wander the isles of what was whites hardware. Now it's owned by Mr Thompson who seems like a reasonable and kind fella and I'm sure he will keep the old hardware store a hometown crisis or emergency...
