Gilley Pool — Local services in McMinnville

We've been going to Gilleys for years because it's AWESOME!! The pool is spread out with enough shallow water space and deep water space for everyone to have enough room to enjoy hanging out in the water on the hot summer days we have. The big slide is SOOO much fun, and the two smaller ones are perfect for younger kids! The water is always clean and clear, and the lifeguards are always paying attention in case of an emergency, which makes me feel good to know they take their jobs seriously. Another thing I want to note is that they do sell food and drinks; fresh pizza, chips, pretzels, ice cream, cokes, waters, candy, and more.. They keep a good selection of items.. Now, as for the drive there, its a pretty quick drive from where we live, (between cookeville & baxter) and it's super affordable admission is great too! We go at least 15+times during June and July😀 When I'm not working and don't have anything else that has to be done on a schedule, we head to Gilleys! It is definitely worth trying it out if you...

was not impressed. drive over an hour away after calling for them to tell me they were at capacity and we had to wait while they “”tried”” to catch people going out leaving for that day so they can admit new people in. mind you if you get a stamp you can come back so how they are keeping up with it is beyond me. then we were told to get out of pool cause they were on their ten minute break, we did, 30 seconds later it was time for everyone to get back in. we literally didn’t even get to our seat before they allowed everyone in. When asking a question to a lifeguard all 3 I talked to were short and rude. not to mention they stay blowing their whistles at everyone, I had no clue we’re they were even coming from or who too. I just want to say how impressed both my husband and I were with the lifeguards at the Gilley Pool. About a month ago we were at another water park and they had a horrible accident. The lifeguards there were in no way as professional and as serious about the job they have than the lifeguards we witnessed at the Gilley Pool this weekend. They are all young but they were constantly watching the pool and ready if needed. Until we saw how bad other lifeguards could be I never really appreciated or even noticed how great they are at their jobs. You don't see them talking or goofing off they are completely serious and very attentive, as they should be, the entire time they are on duty. These young men and women deserve praise because their jobs really do save lives and it was so great to see them taking their jobs as serious...
