I am surprised at all these negative reviews. I get that everyone has different expectations, but some of these seem a bit ridiculous.
I injured my right ankle at my house and had to be driven to an ER. I searched the closest ER to me and that happened to be this facility. I called in advance to ask about wait time as I did not want my father (my driver) to be up all night dealing with me. They told me over the phone what the wait time was like and what the protocol is for admitting a patient. So I’m going to defend them against people complaining about wait times. Sometimes there are just not enough staff members to see all the patients at once! If you are worried about the wait, call and ask! I also just checked their website and the website lists approximate wait time as well… no excuses to complain about it.
The nurse receptionist was very efficient in getting my information and fetching a wheelchair for me, as I was struggling to walk on my injured ankle. I wouldn’t say he was overly friendly, but he was certainly not rude. He’s there to do a job and he did it perfectly for me.
I was wheeled into an examination area by the nurse receptionist and was immediately greeted by a nurse and a doctor. “Hi, I’m Tom!” - That is how my doctor greeted me. It takes years to achieve the title of “Dr.” but to this man’s credit, he treated everyone there like equals, his staff and myself included. (Thomas Engel II, M.D.) My nurse was Amanda, who was also amazing.
X-rays were done and we discovered I broke a bone in my ankle. Dr. Tom Engel was lighthearted and kind to me. He took it upon himself to make me laugh and feel comfortable after being embarrassed of breaking my ankle while exercising. This was not necessary at all, but I’ll never forget how much fun and how positive he was.
Nurse Amanda took it upon herself to wheel me outside all the way to my Dad’s parked vehicle. Extra step she didn’t need to do, but she did it anyway. To all the negative reviews, the staff here are all human! They are trying to offer medical services to the best of their abilities. They are not your servants. They are there to treat your condition. Be grateful we have people like this!
I was there Sunday June 23, 2024 around 10pm. To the nurse working at the desk (I’m so sorry, I never looked at your name tag), thank you! To my nurse Amanda, thank you! To Tom (Dr. Engel), thank you! You’re all amazing and I wish you...
Read moreIt would be 5 stars if 2 employees of yours tonight weren't being ethical, honest, or professional. Froedtert is huge so one review may not stop you from enabling these employees to grieving families over the phone, but I really hope with your mission and vision, that you take this seriously. I called for an update on my father. I'm at work and he isn't answering his phone, so I called to speak with the nurse. I greeted Jessica by saying my name and you guys have documents on file to give me an update, That's it. Well, she could've said "i'm in with a patient right now. Let me call you back" or maybe "switch you to a nurse that can help at this time." Either would have been respectable and responsible. However, she said she cannot give me information until she speaks to my dad. I quickly reminded her that's what legal documentation is for. Asked for an update again. She told me the same thing over and over until I asked for her supervisor because I never have been treated so rudely at Memorial while he has diabetic foot issues. She started to get stern with me becuase she didn't like the call and finally said she's in a room with a patient. Again, she could easily say "I'll get back to you soon" or "let me transfer you" but NOT LIE TO ME OR TAKE A SECOND TO READ THE SCREEN THAT SAYS I AM THE PERSON TO TALK TO whether he can speak or not, that's what a legal document is for. She was surprised I asked for a supervisor and hesitated.
Well, I called right back, asked for the sup. Left my number. To my amazement, the supervisor was unethical, lying, enabling, and unprofessional as she says "Well that's ok" when i told her that the worker said this and didn't talk to me or budge; she said "it's ok" that she did that!!!!! WHAT? no, no that cannot go on to treat others the way i was treated tonight.
This is what you have working for you. If they get talked to, they will make excuses to keep their profession untarnished, but that's what they've been doing all this time potentially. I take a stand for the 'little guy' in life and this is unacceptable. Completely unacceptable that I did my part with your hospital on documentation, and was treated poorly while I';m worried about my only father I have.
I wonder what excuses those girls will come up with, but this needs to cease and...
Read morePrior to the end of 2021 I went to a health care system that would scandalously list all my symptoms repeatedly and sometimes take one test result and give me diseases I didn't have. So from 2022 on I went to other health care system Specialists and they took my real symptoms and attributed them to actual diagnoses. So if something new occurs it is more likely attributed to the progression of one of my diagnoses. Froedtert heath care system has all of my diagnoses without all those symptoms in my Chart because that would be confusing and unnecessary. On 5/26/24 I presented to Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital ER, Nurse Sarah F instead of listing my clearly defined diagnosis she went into Epic and pulled all those erroneous symptoms from the other scandalous healthcare system into my chart and put them on my discharge papers. I do not see any recent diagnosis from Froedtert period. She pulled 2021 from another health care system when I had Froedtert records and diagnosis from 2022 to 2024. Why would she do that, well she is still a part of the scandalous health care system too. The only reason for bombarding a patient's medical records with symptoms is to confuse and frustrate the providers which will more likely precipitate a misdiagnosis, unnecessary procedures and even a preventable death. My symptoms on 5/26/24 were more likely attributed to my POTS being exacerbated or my Ankylosing Spondylitis because of bone spurs pressing my vertebral artery, but she never list these diagnosis which are clearly in my Froedtert Chart! I would like those erroneous records from the scandalous health care system removed from my...
