I LOVE Froedtert but I have serious concerns about the staff at this location. I have been a patient for a few years at multiple locations and I never received such rudeness and an attitude before.
I called to potentially schedule an interview for a nutritionist. I let the receptionist on the phone know that I did extensive research on this individual, and I could not find any information regarding her areas of specialty.
This woman interrupted me twice while I was speaking, and said “last name,” “last name… I need your last name and I need your date of birth if I’m going to help you!”
I gave her my information. I began speaking again and she cut me off and said when the next appointment date is and asked me if I wanted to schedule. I repeated to her that I had a question about the doctors area of specialty.
Her response to me is that she wouldn’t know that type of information. She didn’t bother to help me. She didn’t look it up or put me on hold to ask.
She asked me if I wanted the appointment. I asked her if she could find out this one answer for me so that I could make a decision about scheduling. She told me if I schedule the appointment to see the doctor I could ask the doctor if she sees individuals like myself for my type of need.
I told her that I would reach out to one of my doctors at Froedtert and ask them to get this information for me since she was unable to help. This woman actually laughed at me… Yes, she laughed. She said OK whatever you can do what you want if you don’t want to schedule this appointment.
I told her I don’t have money to see a doctor that may not be able to help me. I’m not going to pay money to see someone just to ask them if they specialize in the area that I need assistance with. She then laughed again, and I told her to have a good day, and she chuckled and said yeah you too!
Even if I find qualified doctors at this location, I don’t know that I trust the staff here. Maybe this woman is having a bad…but this is...
Read moreI had a routine optometrist visit (7/24) and obtained a new glasses prescription as requested. I also wear contacts but told the provider that I was happy with that prescription and did not need a new Rx for my contacts, only my glasses. The optometrist agreed and copied my current contacts prescription into my chart for me to use for another year. Important to note that the optometrist did not originate the contact lens Rx (I saw a different, non Froedtert optometrist in 2023) nor did she provide any assessment to my contact lenses in any way. I didn’t have my contacts with me at this visit, I wore my glasses. When I received my EOB, I saw that I was charged for a “contact lens fitting” which my Medicare advantage plan denied. Knowing that I did not receive a contact lens fitting, or any contact lens care or assessment, I called the billing department to dispute this charge. I called a total of 5 times to billing. With no response after my third call, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The billing supervisor looked in my chart and read to me the optometrist’s note documenting the appointment. The supervisor, after reading the notes to me, agreed there was no documentation of any contact lens fitting or care. She said she would contact the provider to ask about this. I called two more times, again speaking with the billing supervisor. She said she spoke with the clinic manager who told her “this is the way we do things”, and I was required to pay for a service that never occurred. Very disappointing and upsetting that Froedtert codes and charges patients for services that were...
Read moreI took my 79 year old mom to her appt yesterday. She has horrible back spasms and has been in need of a hip replacement. Her husband died this year and had little care of her own health while caring for him and is now mostly immobile. She’s been battling with her Dr for months to prescribe her pain meds. She’s is asking for maybe 5-6 pills a month to help when her spasms make her bed ridden. Her Dr has prescribed only muscle relaxers that don’t help at all. Said she’s afraid she’ll get addicted. She’s 80, who cares if she does. She’s not asking for 90 pills a month. A few. That’s all. Now she wants her to do Chiro and PT before she will prescribe. SHE CANT GET AROUND AT ALL. It took her ten minutes to just get in my car yesterday and they want this woman going two to three times a week to PT unmedicated. When did all the doctors stop treating pain? I get the opioid crisis was bad but this is such a far swing to the opposite end and people are suffering. Doctors who refuse to treat real pain should lose their license and our Gov should be ashamed for making doctors scared to prescribe when they are still allowing illegal drugs to pour across our borders. Real pain and suffering is happening and you are all complicit and should be ashamed. She will get a bill for a visit that did absolutely nothing to help her. Doctors are now scam artists. Stop gaslighting pain patients that Tylenol will help their pain. It says on the bottle for minor aches and...
