Sold my silver coins! Excellent experience. Brought my coins elsewhere was offered $800 and was told they wanted their expert coin dealer to look at them. Said I might have some rare coins and they may be worth more. Three days later they called and said the coin dealer found some collectable coins and that the coin dealer was offering $1000. They said they would let me sell directly to the coin dealer and that they were making no money, just doing me a favor, because I was a customer. During the three days of wait time,I was referred to Gregory Scot's by a friend on the Cape. He said "go see Scot he'll take good care of you". So I picked up my coins from the other place and headed over. Together,(right in front of me) we went through all the coins, with a coin book handy looking for rare dates. We didn't find any. But Scot said they all have silver value. He then offered me $1585...and said he wasn't doing me any favors, he was going to make money on the coins but was merely treating me fairly. A few years ago a small emerald stone fell out of my claddagh ring and I went to Gregory Scot to get a replacement stone. My father gave the ring to my mother in college and has sentimental value. We went over the options ultimately deciding on a tiny diamond (read: the words tiniest diamond) to replace the emerald because it would be more durable moving forward as a stronger stone. It cost me next to nothing, the service and guidance was excellent and I appreciated his time and expertise on a small job.

Today I was in the area and really needed to get my engagement ring cleaned. I wasn't sure if they were open during covid but I popped by and was so pleasantly surprised that they were - they had safety procedures posted on the wall, the staff the welcoming when I walked in, and they were able to clean my ring on the spot at no charge.

During the cleaning I was able to walk around the store and it seems like their collection is excellent. I wanted to share my two positive experiences over the last 5 year span. This is definitely a stand out business...

I just wanted to thank Gregory Scot Jewelers for the wonderful service I received from them in the last two months. My initial visit was to have them replace a battery in my watch. I was very happy with the service I received. The service was very professional, quick, and the price for the battery and was very fair. Two months later, I accidently dropped my watch with the back cover falling off. I put the cover back on, but within two days the watch stopped working. I brought the watch back to Gregory Scot Jewelers and after examining it , they were able to make the adjustment needed to get the watch working again.
