Trucchi's — Local services in Middleborough

I love Trucchi’s, great deli selections, bakery & meat. However in my humble opinion, they are falling short on is muffins. May not be a big deal to most people, but my husband and I look forward to the Corn Muffins, they are the best. Post Covid they now come in a single clam shell or a 4 pack. No, the muffin table is swamped in chocolate chip muffins. The batter of a muffin is no place for chocolate chips, it’s just wrong. There are stacks of them in their plastic clamshells. Which brings me to my other complaint, packaging. Why is so much plastic and meat trays being used for so much produce, we used to be able pick out our own Brussel Sprouts and green beans. This has been another Post Covid change, aren’t we seeing so much destruction of our planet the wild weather and animals, the Sea polluted, the Planet is pissed at us! Of course Trucchi’s is just a small cog in the wheel, but it could start with one supermarket going back to letting customers pick out our own handfuls of fruit and vegetables. And this brings me back to Corn. Peeled corn is fine in a meat tray, and a few other things. Please Trucchi’s make my favorite store more plastic free for the sake of customers, all that plastic and styrofoam gone, will benefit for not having to buy all that, savings, and pass it on to your customers. Please Trucchi’s, take stock of the plastic you use, we then take it home, very little gets recycled and we are paying for it as customers start a trend. I have been angry at all the unnecessary packing post Covid, everywhere. This morning I got up early to get us Corn Muffins, i didn’t see any but there were none as I moved the many Chocolate Chip packs and settled on Blueberry,a good 2nd to the Corn Muffin. Deli is pathetic. Went there today and again they don't use the tickets so it's first come first serve which is fine when people are not assholes. My wife and I had been in line waiting to be served while a women came and grabbed a ticket. I let her know there not using the tickets and that there was a line so she went and stood by the seafood. After about 2 minutes the guy working behind counter asked the female employee if they where going buy numbers she said no but there is someone standing by the seafood after knowing there was two people ahead of her. And yes for something that simple I will never go back. First come first serve means exactly how it sounds. Plus in general they are much more expensive than stop and shop and have a very small...

Pretty good experiences at Trucchis overall. 4 stars as their prices can be beat some other places. They are good for the area, however!

The biggest add lately has been the drive-up pickup service. It has been great. The app for this needs a few improvements: there are some bugs that cause it to crash when you view items sometimes, and the app could do a better job of filtering out items the store presently is out of (do that you are not ordering it, and forcing the poor employee to call and go over a long list of substitutions.) But the fact that someone calls you to go over the substitutions gives Trucchis a true +1 over their competitors on drive-up orders. It is so nice being able to have that interaction...
