BEST PLACE IS BUY A WEBER GRILL IS ACE HARDWARE IN MIDDLETOWN
The price of a Weber grill is controlled by the manufacturer, so it’s the same online or in any of the retail stores that carry it. But there IS a significant difference in the services vendors offer in connection with the grill purchase. After considerable research, I found that the BEST place to go is Ace Hardware in Middletown.
When your grill dies and you want a replacement reasonably quickly, how long it takes to get delivery matters. There would be a delay for all of the online venders to deliver and for Lowes, the model we wanted would take two weeks to order and get it to the store. Some local stores had grills in stock. Most include free delivery, but Home Depot charges $69! Fortunately, all of the online vendors, big box and other stores would provide free assembly on the grill we wanted.
So now you have a new grill, what do you do with the old one, especially if it is over 5 feet long, 4 feet high, and 2 feet deep? Only one place I contacted, Ace Hardware in Middletown, would take away the old grill.
Ace Hardware in Middletown was a pleasure to deal with—the entire process went quickly and smoothly. Joey placed an immediate order for the grill model we wanted (and also a companion rotisserie, and he carefully double checked the item number to make sure it was the right one for this grill). In a few days, the grill was assembled and delivered to us, actually a day BEFORE the promised date.
Joey and his associate came at the time they said they would be at our place and did what we needed to have them do, including removing the old grill. All of this at no additional charge. AND, Ace Hardware’s grill package included a free propane tank refill and a $10 Ace gift card. Joey urged us to sign up for Ace Rewards which is worth another approx. $35 on this purchase.

Read moreHorrible customer service. Don’t buy ace items. Period. corporate case number 5592896. Item says guaranteed. Sloppy john refused to hear the warranty. Kept asking for a receipt. Who keeps a receipt for a yard rake? Such a stupid response from this inbread of a person. Thats their way of saying get lost. So he says, “im done” and walks away to behind the paint desk. Ive escalated the issue to corporate for a resolution. Oh and the nice guy at corporate issues me a credit on my ace account. Guess where ill be spending it. NOT ace in middletown. Funny how whoever responds to these reviews… seems like the one stars are for a very good reason. But nothing gets resolved. Shop at home depot in middletown. At least they act like they care. News. the response to this comment from whoever is missing the point and incredibly stupid. Only "volatile" person was your 4AT red vest wearing non communicating excuse for a manager who thinks he owns its customers. Your corporate took the matter seriously and implied the credit to account plus some. As you know a case number was implemented to discuss your workers actions and tone in the store to a...
Read moreWent to get a replacement for can of spray paint that clogged after only 1/2 used. Cashier tried to unclog it but ended up sending the spray all over outside. So the manager on duty said he would order more because they were out. I thanked him but said do I need something from you saying that you will replace it. And he said why would I replace it it’s almost empty. I told him what happened that the cashier ended emptying the can when she tried to fix it that it was 1/2 full when I brought it in . He looked at me with a puzzled look and went “huh”! He made me feel like I was trying to deceive him. I have never been made to feel this way when I have to replace something with Home Depot and Lowe’s . I could very well afford a $5.99 can of spray paint!!!! It’s just the principle of the situation. Here I am trying to support small business and I get treated like this. I will never shop in this...
