NJ Swingsets & Playgrounds — Local services in Midland Park

I wanted to wait until we had our swingset for about 6 months before writing a review here. In short - people really need to know about NJ Swingsets if they are in the market for a set!

My mother and I agreed to purchase a swingset for my sister, Lisa, and my nephew, Jake, this past spring.

We did tons of research online and visited several local stores. We found NJ Swingset's website about 3/4 of the way through our search and decided to visit them due to their location, very helpful website and positive Yelp reviews.

We were close to ordering a set online, but decided against it because it would have had to been delivered to Lisa's house first, then we would have had to coordinate the installation separately. None of us had the time to stay at home waiting for a delivery, and it was hard to find an installer in a timely manner in the spring.

Jay and Tom answered all of our questions promptly via phone and email prior to our visit. They were just as pleasant and helpful when we visited the store.

Not once did Jay or Tom urge us to make a purchase, and not once did they get upset with the amount of questions we were asking!

When we decided on our swing set, they let us know exactly what to expect up front. For example, Tom said if it rains, we may have to postpone the install to the next available date. Which, unfortunately, was exactly what happened.

Kieran and Joe were our installers. I like to talk a lot and ask questions so I got to know them quite well. They were very friendly, honest and took the time to answer my questions and my sister's as well.

Our swingset looks gorgeous and my nephew loves it. It is November and Jake and his friends are still playing on it (the weather has really held up well this year)

We had a couple of minor issues this past month. Some of the stain has faded on the rockwall and step ladder. We also had some cracks in a few of the rockwall pieces.

I called up NJ Swingsets to ask about the stain and to ask for replacement pieces since they were under warranty. Jay said he would order them and get them to me in a week or two.

Kieran showed up a few weeks later to take off the cracked rockwall pieces and put on the new ones. He also touched up our ladder and rockwall with stain.

Very impressed here. The fact that these guys answered our call and came out to fix our minor issues really meant a lot, which is why I am writing this review - to thank Jay, Tom, Kieran and Joe for a great experience! Jake is very happy and so are we!

An ok experience but I wouldn't recommend the company.

The swing set was built with some defects and when I emailed the company the pictures in this review the owner refused to accept any responsibility for the incorrect installation. This is despite my daughter hurting her foot on the steps that had not been installed correctly.

Details of defects Steps were unevenly installed leading to a jagged edge where children climb Lights were partially screwed in and had to be removed and installed so they were flush against the wall and no screw was exposed.

Poor attention to detail - His team left excess pieces of wood on my drive which I now have arrange the removal of (see pic).

Lastly, I paid his team extra to remove some garbage I had at the house. They agreed and took the $100 and then didn't take everything. I appreciate this was an extra service but the owner refused to take any responsibility for his team, despite them being his employees.

I received a call back from one of his team to try and resolve. I missed the call and left a couple of messages afterwards but didn't call back.

While the younger guys didn't do a great job, personally I see this as a manager/owner's responsibility to guide them appropriately and ensure any problems...

Just wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had for my son’s 5th birthday party today! Making the party reservation was easy, and everything went smooth from start to finish.

Though we did the “swing it your way” Jay was there to greet us when we arrived to set up 30 min prior letting us know he was there if we needed anything. Jay was such a pleasure to work with, and everything was freshly vacuumed and cleaned from the previous party as we arrived.

The kids all had so much fun playing on the wide variety of swing sets and little trampolines. My son had such a blast, and the amount of time and flow of the party was perfect for him. We ordered pizza from the recommended place the day before and everything came on time (and tasted good!) Parents were also commenting on what a great set the place was for a party.

For a private party, and a great space, the price was also very reasonable. Would highly recommend to anyone...
