Foodtown Super Market — Local services in Milwaukee

Update: Needed some meat in a hurry and was in the area so I stopped in Foodtown, I will say I had a totally different experience this time. The meat prices were reasonable and the service and staff was much better than my last visit. Staff was helpful and service was quick. I am happy I gave them another chance as they have a great selection of meat at reasonable prices. Thanks for getting it together Foodtown, you are in the Neighborhood and many want and need to support you!

This was my third time at the store, I needed something quickly and they didn't seem too busy. This is an older store inside. Prices on some items were inflated, lots of meat items at reasonable prices. Unfortunately staff was very rude, especially the lady cashier. This is too bad because the majority of the customers are Africian American who live in the Neighborhood. They should be more appreciative and friendly to their primary customer base or leave the Neighborhood. I was looking for a new place to shop, since the bus route on Appleton no longer goes to Menominee Falls Walmart, and the Walmart on Silver Spring is essentially garbage. So I tried my luck at Food Town. It's right off Fondulac Avenue, so it's right off Hampton Route 12 bus route. It's a bit of a walk around the corner in Winter, but the food is decent with more variety compared to SavALot on 76th, and the Customer Service there is helpful despite any language barriers. Meat prices are ridiculously inexpensive. The staff is always friendly and warm. The store needs a bit of an upgrade. There is always a smell lingering. They always have the seasonings i need and for a good price. I don't too much buy out of the freezer section as those items are extremely high in price. I avoid that section at all cost. The veggie section needs to be revamped and needs to be more fresh than what is it. If it is meat, seasoning, snacks or drinks then this place is for you. Oh they sell alcohol too.
