The Roxy — Local services in Minerva

We just attended the Ghost Town Blues Band concert at this newly refurbished venue. This is a clean, comfortable space that is the right size for concerts. The music sounds great. Every seat provides a great view of the musicians. Prices are reasonable at $25 per ticket, $2 for a pop or bag of popcorn. Minerva has some good restaurants in town if you want a meal and drink before the show. We liked the shrimp and scallops fajitas for two from the Mexican place across the street. There is a downtown DORA so you can bring a beer or mixed drink into the Roxy. If you like blues and rock music, you should see the GTBB. If you love rock and blues, you MUST see them! A Memphis-based band complete with trombone, they travel through Ohio regularly, so watch for them. Last week we saw the Deuce and a Quarter Band. If you’re in Minerva and have a chance to catch a performance at the Roxy Theater, don’t miss it. This place has a great, intimate atmosphere that really enhances the experience of live theater. The productions are well-done, and you can tell there’s a lot of passion and effort put into each show. The staff are welcoming, and the setting makes for a comfortable and engaging evening out.
