China House — Restaurant in Minerva

Food is good but the employees/owners have horrible customer service and are scam artists. I will no longer order from here due to them overcharging my credit card by almost $100 and this is the 3rd time they have overcharged me without my permission. When I went to the China house to get a refund for the money they overcharged me the lady was rude and tried to say I was lying and I told her I had the credit car company on the phone to confirm you have taken the money from my account. She then had to call her credit card company and as she was getting on the phone with them I had told her I wanted cash back she said ok and started speaking in Chinese on the phone so I couldn't understand her. After about 25 mins she got off the phone and said it's being returned to the card, I then said I told you I wanted cash back. She then opened her register and said I don't have enough money for that, I then told her I would take what you have and I can come back at the end of the day and pick up the rest, she then said something in Chinese on the phone and then told me the company won't allow her to. She literally told me she would refund it in cash but she doesn't have the money right now and then said the company won't let her? They are scammers! The time before this that I was overcharged by them she told me she couldn't help me and then gave me the number to their credit card company for me to call!? So I spent over an hour and a half on the phone for them to in the end confirm yes I was overcharged! Horrible horrible customer service and they have absolutely no appreciation for their customers what so ever! She never even apologized for basically stealing $100 from my account. I would recommend only to pay in cash at this place if your going to eat there, like I said this was the 3rd time I have been overcharged and they make it extremely difficult to get your money back which is probably all part of their scam. I will never be returning to this place and I will no longer suggest this business to anyone. It is a disgrace and should be investigated...

Terrible!!! Save your money and your stomach and go to McDonald’s across the street. I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice, Won-Ton soup and 1 eggroll. The fried rice was just that. Rice! (Got what I asked for). Not a single vegetable included. Not 1 pea, carrot, bean sprout… just rice. That might be ok if the flavor was tolerable. It’s not! “Blah” is being very generous. The eggroll was about half full of whatever was in it. Couldn’t tell and the taste didn’t disclose. Most egg rolls are thick and full. Not this one. We seriously wondered if it came from Aldi… but that wouldn’t be fair to Aldi. The Won-Ton soup? You know the water that flows into your bathtub?? Same flavor and consistency. I’d be ok paying the $20 if the food was good, but it’s just not. The only one who was happy and satisfied with this meal was our Doberman who simply doesn’t care about flavor or quality. Just quantity. He would order again from China House. But next time, I’m going to McDonald’s...

China House is an OG Minerva staple. I have been getting chinese food here since I was a child- and many times, with limited eating options over the years, I have been so very grateful for their food. I will admit, the prices are quite high in comparison to other chinese food restaurants, in my opinion- but there are not many close enough to compete. I so wish for local delivery! If China House got onto doordash, I would definitely order even more often. Nonetheless, one cannot help but be filled with joy when sitting down on the couch to eat a bunch of delicious Chinese food,...
