So I researched long and hard where to get a massage for my birthday and I found Aroma online. When I saw they had a birthday special it was on and poppin! I was so excited. Unfortunately...my massage was not what I thought it'd be. The beginning part was cool, I got a foot soak and then a foot massage while they had a sheet mask on my face. They tried to make the experience as relaxing as possible but I kinda hate sheet masks and I thought it was going to be like a mask they applied with their hands but whatever. Then I had the massage. It was a really nice older Asian woman and she just immediately started without asking me where I'm having issues or where to focus on which I thought was interesting but it was 75 mins and a full body massage so I figured she'd work all over. Sadly she massaged my back and shoulders for the majority of the time, honestly probably like 60-65 mins of it. Mid-massage I asked, "are you going to do my arms and legs?" because it seemed like she had been working on my back for a while, and she said yeah... but then never really did. She skimmed over my glutes and legs while the sheet was over them, and never did my arms/forearms or hands. It really bummed me out because I've been working out a lot and I felt like my legs needed working, but there was definitely a language barrier which made things a little tough. Although I got a great back massage, I feel like I paid too much to not get a full body massage and I thought that was strange. I'll def pass on this one next time though it sounds like others have had good...

1st: The place smells like a gym. It was a bit musty... they should have candles burning or a plug-in. Definitely need an air filter in there.
2nd: The massage was good, BUT we weren't offered any water. Even when my MIL stated that she can use some water. Other palces we've been to, they offer a bottle of water at the beginning and after the whole body massage.
3rd: Then we were told that we needed to pay taxes on the gift card, $24. That's fine, we did. Then rigth away, we were told, "tip". They had a sign that said, "Tip Suggestions" with some amounts listed. We tipped them $35, they kept their eyes on the money and pointed to the sign that for 2 people, the "suggested" tip was $45. Obviously, we were feeling really uncomfortable with all 3 of the workers staring at us. We realized that the sign was NOT a "suggestion" but a "requirement." We added a $10 and then they finally smiled and offered us a pink drink. We took a quick sip and left as quickly as we could...never to return again.
So if anyone buys you a Groupon for this place, be prepared to pay more to utilize your gift...and wear a mask pre-sprayed with an aroma therapy scent you like.

Read moreWe are visiting Minneapolis from out of town and I was really looking forward to the couples Happy Anniversary massage package that was booked for my boyfriend & I based on all the positive reviews here, but unfortunately we came down with a severe case of food poisoning last night which we are still barely recovering from. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:30 am and I called at 9:01 am which based on their hours listed here they reflect opening hours as 9:00 am. When I called to reschedule to tomorrow or Monday on a time that was best for them since this was unexpected NOT cancel, I unfortunately was talked to in a very rude manner which I did not appreciate. I explained that we had food poisoning and was told I should’ve called earlier because the 2 people preforming the services would now be waiting 90 minutes. I called 1 minute after their opening hours so not quite sure how I was supposed to call earlier. I was not thinking about calling last night when I was severely sick and unwell which started around their closing hours. I understand this was not an ideal situation and was not expecting to miss this service, but will not be taking my business there based on how they communicated and treated me as a customer.
