Kind service and a short wait before our order came to the table.
But the food was substantially underwhelming. We ordered 3 plates. Worst among them was a sesame chicken combo plate with egg roll & fried rice. The chicken was outrageously dry and chewy. I had to pick through the pile to find softish bits. The fried rice was passable, but I've made better at home with a seasoning kit from the grocery store. The egg roll was pretty tasty though.
The beef and chicken lomain were pretty good all around. They seemed designed to safely traverse the middle of the road. No exciting flavors or textures; just food-flavored food.
Those three plates, two sodas, and one beer cost us $60 total, which is why my overall rating is so low. I'd compare what we found on our plates to about the same level as a food court, except very likely healthier. But for so much money, I expected a better dish.
After we had finished, we decided we'd have been better off at Culver's. While that's not personal in any way and certainly not healthy, it would have been...
Read moreOrdered online New Years Eve and doubtful if will order again. We live in the neighborhood and have been ordering takeout here for years. We couldn’t get through on phone so did online for the first time. We wanted to order sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and cream cheese wontons. The only option for sweet & sour was a “combo” meat of pork/chicken/shrimp (unable to just order chicken). and the shrimp bites (if that what it was) was nearly inedible and was chewy and tasteless and basically gross. I didn’t eat any chicken and pork was okay. There was maybe 3 chunks of pineapple in sauce and no other veggies. The wontons had less than half of cream cheese than what they used to have and tasted “fishy” (probably need to change out oil). The fried rice was good. Dragon Jade has seriously gone downhill since last year - hope this isn’t...
Read moreGreat Place! Dragon Jade is a little hidden behind the Lunds Byerlys store but if your fortunate enough to find it you will be very pleased that you did! We have been enjoying Dragon Jade for years and I have never honestly been disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I do have my favorites, (beef chow fun, sesame chicken) but there has never been anything that I would consider bad in any way. My wife and daughters love the house fried rice and the chicken egg rolls but we all LOVE the cream cheese wontons, so fresh. Anyway, dine in is casual but nice, clean and comfortable and take out is alway packaged very well and is piping hot! Lastly, if you dine in and like chow mien then ask for the special beef chow mien. I honestly have never asked what makes it “special” but at this point I don’t care, it’s...
