Unfortunately had an awful experience at Emmy's. Got a bridesmaids dress for my best friends wedding there. It came in way too big. Whoever measured did a terrible job. After going to a tailor near me (I live 3 hours away) she told me the dress should have been ordered at least 3 sizes smaller. It is going to cost a whole bunch of money on top of what I've already paid for this mistake to be fixed. They never offered any money back/ discount or literally anything and quite honestly it wasn't pleasant talking with the owner. Her advice was to come up to the store for her to help.....I mentioned many times that I'm 3 hours away and that wasn't happening. VERY unhappy with the professionalism at this store.
This is the first wedding I've ever been in and was SUPER excited for all of this fun dress shopping and feeling good in my dress. After this experience, it has really been a stressful, overly expensive, pain in my butt. I'm sad to say that what I was looking forward to- is no longer. Had this been a different outcome, I would be feeling better about this situation. Emmy's needs to be more consistent with measuring and sizing. I have not lost nor gained any weight since the initial try on and the sizing is so off it's ridiculous. A price reduction, a discount, or even a sorry would have been better than nothing. Offering your services when I'm this far away isn't doable. It shouldn't have been such a mistake in the first place.
I will update this with a picture ASAP.
To respond to the owner below: What I find to be unprofessional is the fact that you all ordered me a dress that is WAY too big- whatever was measured mustn't have been proper. Of course I signed off on the size ordered...how am I to know any difference?
One size difference wouldn't have been an issue since I was between two sizes- great, whatever. But my professional tailor is telling me I could have gone down 3 dresses sizes? Pardon my innocence when it comes to dress purchasing but that seems like complete nonsense. I haven't been back in the area since my initial fitting back in August. I had a friend pick up my dress, bring it to Cleveland and I won't be back again until June.
Being in the professional industry, I guess I would have acted a whole lot more concerned and compassionate to a customer whom had awful service at your store.
Even if I were to have tried the dress on long ago like you stated would have been smart- I wouldn't be in the area so it wouldn't have mattered. It's just a shame that you all don't take the blame for this what I consider huge mistake. As I stated earlier- I will be posting pictures...
Read moreMy daughter, who is getting married in September, and I went last Saturday to Emmy's to look for mother of the bride dresses for me. I had called the afternoon before to set up an appointment and inquired about plus size MOB dresses and was told they did. I have to say that I was quite anxious looking for a dress because of my size--28.
I was not disappointed when we arrived. We were greeted by Mandy, who was warm, kind and extremely helpful. She inquired if I had style in mind and I showed her what I was looking for. They had the dress that I wanted and although it did not fit perfectly, I was able to try it on and see what it looked like. My daughter and I fell in love with it! Mandy took my measurements to ensure I ordered the correct size. And in doing so, made me feel very comfortable in my own skin!
Mandy also spent time helping my daughter with questions regarding bridesmaid dresses. She was so helpful.
I have to tell you, the customer service at Emmy's was outstanding. I would highly recommend them. Thank you, Mandy for your help....I am so...
Read moreOrdered a suit/tux a couple of months ago for a wedding today. Got the outfit just a couple of days before the actual wedding, but was told we would get it in time so if anything needed to be changed, they would do it. That obviously didn’t happen. My pants were about two or 3 inches too short, my shirt was extremely large and the only thing that really fit correctly was the jacket. Not sure how they measure folks but my suit looked hideous in my opinion and I was quite uncomfortable! I would say stay away from these folks. For a lot of folks they are the “only game in town” but considering $190 to rent a suit I can buy one as nice for about $100 more and be guaranteed to fit and able to use multiple times from the Men’s Warehouse.
