Save your time and money and play one of the SEVERAL other superior (and significantly more affordable!) golf courses in the area. We had an unfortunately poor experience here. Multiple holes were under significant renovation - which they let you know at booking, and mention that a discount has been provided - but this was by far the most expensive round I played while in the area (Arrowood, Talega etc. all cheaper and in much nice condition)... And the holes that are under renovation are under SERIOUS renovation - felt like playing a construction site more than anything, not what you'd expect for a ~$200 round of golf.
Worst part - we weren't able to play a full 18 holes because of some teenagers who had hiked into the course and were fishing on 1 of the par 3 ponds. We were told, by course staff, our options were to either skip the hole or try to hit and avoid striking one of the fishermen, and if we did we'd be liable. What an absolute joke. We attempted to ask the kids to move/leave - they rudely declined. The course mentioned they regularly have kids trespass onto the course, this is a clearly known problem, and when this was raised to them they made ZERO effort to rectify the situation.
How are you charging almost $200 for a round of golf in these conditions? What a great way to start the back 9 -- get into a confrontation with teenage trespassers and the course does literally nothing about it (said they only had 1 employee in the shop, no marshall on the course whatsoever). It really soured the round and we will not be returning -- why bother when there's much better courses with cheaper prices within...
Read moreIf you love sitting in bonfire smoke and choking on it your entire brunch, this place is for you! The manager (on 5/22/16) blamed our party for "wanting to sit outside" for their barbecue smoke, instead of taking responsibility for the fact that they put the fire pit upwind of the entire restaurant. The first thing we smelled when we walked into the reception area was smoke. Little did I realize it was from their barbecue (which is really only 10% of the buffet) who's smoke was billowing over the ENTIRE outside eating area as well as the inside diners. So, buyer beware! According to the management, it will be YOUR FAULT if the smoke from THEIR bonfire chokes you out like it did to us. The buffet was great otherwise, but I'll never be going there again since I also like to breathe oxygen instead of smoke. It would seem to me that if they had the BBQ once before, they could've averted this situation, but they must not care about the comfort or wellbeing of their guests. I'm definitely not one to ever EVER complain, but this was too miserable not to...
Read moreArroyo Trabuco Golf Course has always been one of my favorite spots, but the recent upgrades have taken it to another level! The course has never looked better, and the new bunker replacements are a game-changer. Each bunker is perfectly shaped and filled with premium sand that adds both a visual appeal and a refined playing experience. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into these improvements, making the course even more enjoyable and challenging in the best way possible.
The layout remains scenic and well-maintained, with lush fairways and greens that roll true. I also appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff who made the day even more pleasant. Whether you’re a local or visiting the area, Arroyo Trabuco should be at the top of your list for a premium golf experience. Five stars for this fantastic course and the impressive new bunker...
