If there were zero stars I'd give them that! Their pharmacy staff are the rudest, most inefficient bunch of people I've ever encountered and when they continuously messed up my prescriptions they tried to blame me! Then acted like there was something wrong with me or that I was crazy for questioning their competence. When I asked to speak to the store manager he told me that he will stick by his staff no matter what they've done or how they've treated me and he didn't believe that they did the things I was claiming. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect by a business in my entire life. Needless to say Meijer has lost my business along with my family and friends by word of mouth as you can not continue to treat people in this manner and think you will survive in a world full of competition. The public is your survival. Think about that the next time you even consider treating another customer the way you treated me! You are pathetic and disgusting and I wouldn't care if you were the only major grocery chain on this planet, I'd grow my own produce or starve before I'd go back to shopping at Meijer. In addition to this when they have their weekly sales I would plan and pick out my Mperks only to get there and find the shelves empty or picked over. I'd complain to a department manager and get an "I'm sorry ma'am", but never get the item I came for, a raincheck, a discount or any kind of compensation for all my trouble and efforts. I guess they think we have all the time in the world to sit and load coupons, check up on their progress, look up sales, ads and make sure they're honored, make lists only to check off things that won't be bought this week or any week for that matter, gripe, complain and b*tch about absolutely everything because they give you nothing they promise they will. I have pets. I went in once with a friend to look at fish. In every single tank there were dead fish. Who wants to buy fish there when you see dead fish in all of The tanks? Not me or my friend. So we went up to the man working in that department and told him about the dead fish. All he said was, "Ok". No, it wasn't ok, but apparently he thought it was. The only thing I have to say that's good about Meijer is....... nothing! There's nothing good to say about them!!! Nothing at all. Zero stars. A...
Read moreIt is like a better version of Walmart. It is cleaner and friendlier and has some fancier things. Unfortunately, I think the price is slightly higher than Walmart and significantly higher than Aldi on non-sale items.
12/31/18 Edit: I had to reduce my rating from 4 to 2 stars due to recent issues. Days ago I was in the store for 2 things in particular, a griddle and roller skates for a young kid, and they had neither of these items. The griddle area had a sign saying "rainchecks available" - this was at least a consolation prize for me as maybe I could still get the price that I would have gotten if I was able to use an mPerks promotion before expiration. I took a picture of the sign and tag on the shelf to assist the cashier. The cashier was friendly, but after a considerable wait and a cashier consulting with other staff on the phone the conclusion was that they were not sure why it said "rainchecks available" and therefore I was out of luck. So I went to Walmart and readily found and bought the two items for about the same as I would have paid with the raincheck. As much as I and others knock Walmart, this is a clear victory for them.
Another issue happened just yesterday - I was not allowed to return my wife's jacket purchased at Black Friday. The stitches were already letting loose in a small area inside the the jacket. Maybe we missed it upon purchase or maybe the quality of this Marley and Me was low enough it happened within a month. I had a receipt, but there was some glitch in their computer and they needed a UPC. I had a Black Friday receipt but not the tags from the jacket (who saves that anyhow?). They said I could just go and find the jacket on the sales floor and that UPC could be scanned. I spent time looking for it and another employee confirmed they were out of this jacket. I waited in line again and they suggested that my mPerks on my phone would have that UPC data. All I could find was a digital copy of the receipt in my hand. I waited in line for the third time and they said I was out of luck. They would not even issue store credit so my wife could exchange it. I wasted a lot of time on what was literally a $40 Black Friday jacket. Within a month it already is literally coming apart.
I am simply not impressed with...
Read moreMy last several Curbside pickup experiences have been terrible! This last one being the icing on the cake that has made me decide to take my business elsewhere! As a single fulltime working mother I choose Curbside for its convenience. This last order, (mind you by the time you find all the groceries you need and get them put in your cart, that still takes time, which i don't mind because it's still time saving vs going into the store but having to do it twice because of the mistake Meijer made is time i don't have) I place my order, get my confirmation text and 5 min later get another text stating my order has been canceled by Meijer let me add and when I called they had no explanation as to why this was canceled. I was then told to ignore the canceled text as they were already working on my order. Ok, so I call before leaving my house just to verify as I never got a text that my order was ready and didn't want to drive 30 minutes just to get there and not have an order. I was then told they are not sure who told me that but that my order was indeed canceled and that there was nothing they could do about it, that I would have to take more time to reorder again! They offer a $10 coupon for the inconvenience..ok. so I move everything from my canceled order to my cart and place my order just to get home today with my groceries to find only 1 of everything, so all of my coupons, and store discounts when you buy a certain number of that item has not been applied. To say I'm upset is an understatement. That $10 coupon did nothing when I paid full price for everything sense the number of items order was NOT filled! Not to mention the previous order I had placed the last time of course you get the substitute list and the items they are sold out of.. well I found it hard to believe the items that were "out of stock" had no other options as replacements.. so I walk into the store and EVERY last item I was told they were "sold-out of" was available and on the shelf. Meijer you need to do better by your loyal customers as eventually we WILL...
