While visiting family in NJ we discovered this new bouldering-specific climbing gym, and had to visit. We had fun but were let down by a few things...
Pros Most routes were fun. New facility. Relatively clean. Friendly staff. Slackline. Crash pad was plush. Holds are of all the same color. No color-taped routes.
Cons Expensive. We were overcharged. On their website it says an adult day pass is $18. We were charged $19.25 each - not sure why but didn't notice until after we left. Overall, route grades soft. However, they're kinda all over the place. I climbed everything from an E (v0 to v2) to an H- (V8+ to V9) and can confidently say some of the hardest routes were just as easy as some of the M routes. A lot of routes climb well but end with big reachy traverse moves. Fine if you're tall but impossible without a dyno if you're under 5'8". Setters, maybe add some tiny footholds? No brush poles for cleaning off overly chalked or dirty holds. No down climbing jugs.
The staff and community seem fairly new to climbing, which is fine. Awesome to see more people realize how fun climbing is. There's definitely room for improvement so we'll probably visit again next year when we're back in...

Read moreVisited for the first time and was very impressed by the friendliness of the workers. There was a problem with opening one of my Groupon vouchers and they helped as much as possible, even offering to stay open longer due to that issue taking quite some time and it approaching closing time. Will be recommending this...
