Food Lion — Local services in Monroe

This Food Lion is not the Best Food Lion in the Area. Some of the time Products are not Fully Stocked on the Shelves. Sometimes its Flies literally Flies in the Deli Meat Storage. Most of the the Staff are Nice but, the concern I had today was the Fact that the Lines were EXTREMELY long and the Manager was No where around.

My Occupation is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of Mental Health Services however years ago I was a Store Manager for another Store. And i was appalled today via 09/15/2024 at the fact that the Cashier at Food Lion could not explain to me what the Protocol was when she sees a Long Line. I told her after she responded what the Protocol is as part of a Customer Service Measure which is to call for Assistance on her Speaker whenever she sees that she has a Long Line.

I asked to speak with a Manager which and I spoke with the Front End Manager named Jay because he needs to (Retrain) the Staff on providing Excellent Customer Service and Protocol to call him or another Manager when the line is to long. Again as someone who has worked in the Store Management field previously this Store needs to do Better.

The Food Lion on MLK in Monroe is much better . The Sunset Store needs to Model the MLK Store. Because the MLK Food Lion is on point with Customer Service, Cleanliness, Friendly, and Always...

I mostly shop in the Sunset Drive Food Lion and I consider this to be a poorly run store. Why? The seafood section is a joke. They should just remove it. Secondly, the store is constantly putting temporary displays in the aisles which become an obstacle coarse during peaks. Thirdly, there is not much diversification of many sections. For example there is a very large section of yogurt in dairy that seems like over kill and could free up space for other products. The dairy case often runs out of 1/2 gallons of milk requiring me to find someone to get it from the back. Prices have gone up tremendously and continue to climb even though inflation has cooled down and there are no longer supply chain issues related to covid. The produce dept could relay use expansion. For some unexplained reason Food Lion has reduced store brand offerings like ice cream and soda that further limits money saving options. I am very disturbed by something I witnessed in your store.. a cashier actually began laughing at a girl who paid for her groceries with Food Stamps! I guess he looks down on the less fortunate or feels as though he is above them, but let me tell you that I pray you are never faced with any hardship or have to make the choice to either pay bills or feed your family. I said that to say this: Nathan, how dare you treat others in such a way! You do not know what that family was dealing with. My heart is heavy and I am truly saddened by your behavior, young man.
