The Palace restaurant has been a staple in Monroe , NC for many years . It has been remodeled & updated with a fantastic menu . They serve breakfast and lunch daily , and now serve dinner Wednesday through Friday . They have great county style selections such as country style steak & gravy over mashed potatoes or rice . Lots of great hot or cold vegetables to choose from for your sides . They also have grilled steak or the delicious Colorado Chicken. Plus much more . Desserts & muffins available. The food is still delicious here and service is great . The servers take great care of you . They have plenty of parking available & are handicap accessible. This place was nice and has plenty of room. There servers were kind and helpful, ours was Monica and she was knowledgeable about the menu and patient...it was our first time in there. The double cheeseburger, added bacon for a dollar, was really good... On par for this type of restaurant but a little more food. I was satisfied. My wife had the beef tips ...I tested them and they were 👍👍. That's what I plan to get when we go back.

The reason for the 4 stars is only because they had half the restaurant closed down and were putting the chairs up on the tables to mop... That was a bit strange considering they close at 9pm and we walked out the door...

Hands down the best breakfast and lunch you can get in Monroe. Trust me, I’ve been to every breakfast restaurant in the area searching for the best biscuits and gravy. Palace is the only place where the gravy doesn’t taste like it has 8lbs of salt in it. I can only assume the gravy is fresh due to this or they just understand a pound of salt isn’t needed when you add equally salted meat into the gravy. I’ve never had a bad meal here and my parents actively come from Myrtle beach to eat here with us. The place is always packed so if you’re looking for a place with not a lot of people make sure to get here at...
