Updating for all the people looking to join for their 2025 New Years Resolution. If you go for a tour of the facility- BE SURE TO GO AT THE TIME & DAY YOU INTEND TO USE IT. Do not go for a tour on a Sunday at 10am if you plan on using it at 5:30 on weekdays. The comments from my earlier post still stand. On Weds. 11/13 I waited 25 minutes for a swim lane. During this time a 13/14 year old kid spent a LOT of time working on underwater handstands and somersaults in his LAP lane. A couple of other patrons spent a lot more time standing along the wall than actually swimming. I believe one was more interested in a PODcast than exercise. The weight room has a new bunch of high school kids that (for the most part) are respectful. But they still act like kids and use the weight benchs for beverage and phone holders. You will want to get into the habit of wiping down the equipment BEFORE you use it- most people don't don't wipe down when done.

Consider these things before you join. MAFC is very affordable- which is why I still go.

Below is my earlier post from around 6 months ago.

MAFC is affordable- which is why I gave it 3 stars. THE POOL - EXPECT TO WAIT 15- 20 MINUTES for lap swim in prime time (after work). There are 6 lanes- One dedicated to aerobics (not laps) and 2 typically have classes at this time. Of the remaining 3 lanes (6 slots) expect 2 or 3 of these slots taken up by 8-10 year old children being "coached" by their parents. They swim a lap and then spend 2 or 3 minutes being critiqued by their parents- they typically take up a lane for an hour. THE WEIGHT ROOM- maintained well and clean. Not uncommon to be overrun by high school kids. The kids are usually respectful, however at times act like high school kids. Too bad it isn't a little bit larger. This is not a place for hardcore weight lifting. Wiping down equipment after use happens only half the time. TREADMILLS / FITNESS EQUIPMENT maintained well. THE STAFF is mostly courteous and helpful, but one or two people act like government employees (which, I guess, they are). In general, a decent facility geared towards children and families. The facility does seem to close a lot or have shortened hours. The week between Xmas and New Years they were...

I've been coming here for a month to help my handicapped mother do some upper body lifts in the weight room. We chose this location because it seemed like a comfortable atmosphere with no judgement in the weight room. However today we were in the middle of a set and a staff member, who was giving another member a tour of the weight room asked if we were almost done, to which I replied, "yes, we have one more set". She proceeded to condescendingly tell us "that we aren't allowed to rest on the equipment" and that we needed to move. The tone and way this was approached was very disrespectful and aggressive. So we got up and moved while she showed the touring member that specific exercise. They then proceeded to go on to do 4 more machines. So the question is, why not politely ask us to allow the touring member to work in, or go do another exercise while we finished up? As to the resting on the equipment, my mother is 61 years old with two severely arthritic knees and can barely walk, do you expect her to stand up and stand in the corner in between sets? I can't imagine the staff member has any kind of real training qualifications, however when someone is working out, there is a rest period in between sets. That is normal. Not to mention the fact that 3 young healthy men were on their phones on the other side of the gym occupying equipment space, however nothing was said to them. All in all, if i were older and looking for a place that can be accommodating to your needs, I'd choose a different gym because the price convenience isn't worth being uncomfortable and...

We have been coming here for the past few months to play pickleball and have never had any problem with the management. As usual, we reserved the court online and paid the fee on returning the equipment (if any) and had no issues, UNTIL today. When we reached there at our scheduled booking slot and went in to ask management to help us unlock the pickleball net and some paddles, this person named BOB asked us for our car keys as a form of deposit until we returned the net and paddles. We usually register our name and list of equipment in the log page, but today they wanted our car keys as leverage (which is never mentioned on their website as a requirement, mind you). After paying the amount and leveraging our car key, this other lady went out to unlock the pickle ball net, and Bob started laughing at us for no reason. When we asked the reason for his incessant laughter, he said, “BECAUSE YOU ARE HILARIOUS” in a sarcastic tone. It seems that this was specifically targeted towards us because we didn’t see any other car keys leveraged at their desk besides ours. When we asked for the receipt, again they sarcastically told us, “Oh, now you want the receipt." When one of our friends mentioned that they never had this type of experience too in the past, he stated, “WELCOME TO THE NEW LIFE." Seriously??? Not once in the entire conversation were these guys sorry; they didn’t even apologize for the way they behaved. The management should put extra focus on guys like him and teach them how to talk respectfully with women....
