We had a community picnic in June. We searched for the best possible place that would provide amenities and everything for the kids. We had two weeks to find a place and the weather had been brutal so far for the month. My wife had her company picnic there a year prior and suggested I look into Vasa Park. Long story short, we live in town and this is a hidden GEM!!!
We did a walk through and loved the place as it provided a pool and everything we were looking for, especially a lot of shade, picnic tables and a huge gazebo to cover over 100 people in case it rained.
The best part of the experience was working with the manager Lisa. She was amazing as working with her was so easy and so comforting. She has amazing people skills and as diverse as our community members are that attended, everyone who met and or spoke with Lisa had nothing but high regards for her.
The place was amazing and again, a hidden gem. We can’t wait to hold more outings there and to work with Lisa and her amazing staff.
Highly recommended for your next community or company picnic or wedding. They also have a beautiful newly built hall inside for weddings and other events. Check this place out for either or and I guarantee you won’t regret it.
Thank you Lisa, Vasa Park and Staff.
You’re the Best!!!

Read moreFirst time at Vasa Park. They were having a fundraiser for my fellow veterans. There were organizations like Operation Chillout that help homeless veterans, Mission 22 also had a tent set up. Mission 22 is a organization that looks to prevent veterans from committing suicide. The Warren County Sheriff department was present, song with reps from the Army and Natoonal Guard.
There was live music and plenty of food vendors with a stand selling just drinks (i.e., water, soda, and beer). The property is privately owned and is NOT open to the public. The property is owned and operated by the Fraternal Society of Swedish immigrants. The property was developed for the Scandinavian-American community. They have a in-ground pool, a playground, and community center, a pavilion that has 15 picnic style tables with built in bench seats.
It's a very nice park like setting in a beautiful part of Warren County. The internet says Vasa Park is in Hackettstown when in fact its in Mt. Olive and not...
Read morethis park seems to only have one event - the Scandinavian fair, my rating is on that. the park itself is nice, has indoor bathrooms, indoor rooms and a nice play ground.
but the festival is a rip off. at $13-14 a head, when you get inside its just a tent city. filled with crafts and food, and a few random demonstrations, that might or might not be Scandinavian. there is a dancing pavilion, and one song sounded traditional. then they played swing, so that was confusing. they had an axe throwing thing, but they weren't trained, and anyone could have gotten in front of it from the outside. very dangerous. overall i felt ripped off. $3 is all that was worth, if all i wanted was fried oreo's, a hot dog, funnel cake and spiral potato. there wasn't even traditional food there, but there were a lot of...
