After 15 years of supporting this establishment faithfully, I will no longer be a customer after what happened today.
Simply put, I was insulted and humiliated by a cashier I had never seen before, with no apology afterward by either her or the owner.
Here's the deal...I purchased 6 grapefruit that were selling at 2 for 1.00. There was also a bin that had grapefruit selling at 2 for 3.00 nearby, but not side by side with the less expensive grapefruit.
When I went to the cashier, she asked me which grapefruit they were, and I told her they were the ones that were 2 for a dollar.
With that, she removed a grapefruit from the bag, examined it, and declared it was too big to be from that bin, essentially inferring I was lying and trying to rip them off.
She then left the register area to go and examine the grapefruit bins, all the while there were at least 6 people in line behind me observing the scene.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I asked her why she she didn't believe me, but I was ignored. Arriving at the bins she examined the grapefruit.
Unconvinced, she asked a coworker nearby if it was at all possible the grapefrut in question could have been the less expensive one. Apparently he assured her it was.
With that she returned to the register as if nothing had happened.
I was simultaneously humiliated, enraged, and felt disrespected. I told her without raising my voice that what she had done was incredibly rude and inappropriate.
She responded by yelling that it was her job to do so. I told her that insulting a customer by indirectly suspecting them of lying is most certainly NOT her job, and that I would be speaking with the owner, which I did.
The owner listened but was essentially unresponsive, again with no apology offered.
I told him that he had just lost a loyal customer of 15 years, and that if he wasn't careful, more would follow.
As I said...for 15 years I never had anything even remotely close to a bad experience in that place. For years there had been a very sweet woman at the cash register, but I hadn't seen her recently.

Today we picked up a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Oh, the jackfruit that they sell here is super delicious. Last time when I spoke with the cashier he said that they get jackfruits once a week! Normally they get sold out really fast. So, if interested just call and ask if they’re in stock.
Verdi Fresh prices are also reasonable compared to other farmers market/ supermarkets in the area.
The gingers weren’t in their best shape and weren’t fresh. But I was able to find a decent piece.

Read morewhat an worst experience in customer service verdi fresh farmers market Buddlake, I like that place for convienience today shopped there and didn't pay attention to my bill.(my mistake).. how ever when i was unpacking I realized the bill cost me is no where close, looked up my purse to see the bill I did find credit card receipt not the purchase receipt, I called the store and no one picked up so took all items back just to make sure how much it cost... in this weather... the lady over there was so rude asking me for the purchase bill I said I didn't have it can you tell me price on these argued with me that I left few items in the home and the charges are correct ... I finally found the receipt in my bag and showed her I bought only these and I see lot of other stuffs added she looked me like criminal and said earlier you said you didn't have bill now you found , some items may be in your car , or home ... I asked her do you have camera can you please check ...also the customer side screen was blocked so didn't even know how much it cost.. finally the guy who rang me up came over and went to look up the camera and said sorry it was his mistake, I asked him can you tell her it's your mistake, he said I said sorry mam in a rude tone... the lady didnt even look up to say sorry ... mistake happen every where it's human I understand being 14 years in retail I get it... however this could have been handled...
