Kyla's Asian Market — Local services in Mountain Home

Been here a handful of times. It's easily the smallest Asian market I've ever been in, but they still have a decent selection of basic Asian food and ingredients, and their prices are extremely reasonable. The owners are quite friendly as well. I'd consider this a great little market if it weren't for my most recent visit.

Just after checking out, I turned to leave and saw a German Brown cockroach on one of the refrigeration units. I thoroughly checked my bag before depositing it into the trunk of my car, and checked everything again before introducing my purchases to my home.

This is a very serious issue that the owners need to acknowledge and address as soon as possible. Meanwhile, if you do choose to shop here, I'd suggest only purchasing pre-packaged items and check them thoroughly before making your purchase, giving extra attention to seams and folds. Bring your own shopping bag, but if you do get a bag from the store, inspect it before placing it in your vehicle. The number one way roaches are introduced into a home is through shopping bags. I would avoid fresh produce, as roaches can burrow into them and hide among leaves and under the skin of fruits and vegetables.

I sincerely hope the owners address this issue. This is the only store of its kind in Mountain Home and I'd like for them to be successful for years to come, but I also want to know that the place is clean and not posing infestation risks to...

I've been here 3 times now, & I always find something interesting to buy. On my first visit I found a bottle of White Flower oil, which I had seen on Amazon. Was nice to buy this without waiting for shipping. It works well for aches & pains. I've also found several key ingredients needed for great meals, like Sichuan peppercorns, fresh picked ginger, bok-choy, bamboo shoots, & Korean BBQ sauce. The cuts of short ribs I purchased were meaty, & what I consider a good price, & it's also the only place I know to find them for sale. They have lots of seafood, even cuttlefish. My kids find treats here they enjoy too, & my wife found some cozy shoes, & some t-shirts. The people working there are also friendly, & ask if you need help finding anything.
