When you work in Mt. Home only 2 or 3 days a week and your truck is full of pink boxes (those are so rad!!!) you know you're a fan of this amazing place. I studied abroad in France and have traveled throughout Quebec (the other France) so I'm addicted to good laminated pastries. That said, since living back in Arkansas for 7 years now I have yet to find a patisserie that does it well. Look no further than this humble little shop off the main square in Mt. Home, AR!!!! Rachel, the owner/operator, is a truly gifted baker. The quality of her pastries is only matched by her incredible creativity- on a recent visit here I had jalapeño popper filled croissants, mocha chocolate croissants, almond croissants, and she is the only patisserie in the area that makes my favorite pastry, Kouignn Amann, and she fills them with amazing stuff like blueberry/lemon, raspberry, blackberry, etc. Every time I am in the area for work I stop by during the mornings. Rachel and her staff are some of the most inviting and friendly people you'll ever meet. They even remember your name after one visit. Unlike many pretentious bakers, Rachel is happy to talk shop with her patrons, which speak tons about her character. If you're looking for a unique place to experience excellent food and service this is the place. It is not...
Read moreIâm not sure why this place isnât on Yelp, but we were so pleasantly surprised by this patisserie in Mountain Home, I tracked it down on Google so I could leave a review. Weâre not locals, but my wife grew up coming to Lake Norfolk, and weâve been here for a severa days each summer since weâve been married. And whereas her familyâs goto place has always been the Back Forty (and it remains a tradition to this day), we were glad when Chiliâs opened several years back for a little variety. So when we saw all of these new places in downtown Mountain Home, including this little (petite) patisserie, we did not know what to expect. Needless to say we were more than pleasantly surprised. Super friendly and the pastries all looked delicious, if not quite as âpicture perfectâ as some our own local bakeries/patisseries (in an our own much bigger city that we call home) but we got a pretty good sampling to take back to share with the rest of the family, and the quality and flavor of every single one was decadent and delicious,...
Read morePetite Patisserie has consistently impressed since its inception, offering a delightful array of baked goods that have garnered a loyal following. One standout item that has captured my palate is the berry croissant French toast casserole, traditionally crafted from leftover croissants and served with authentic maple syrup. Regrettably, due to the bakery selling out of their croissants, there are no longer any leftovers available, resulting in the discontinuation of this beloved dish. This situation prompts a heartfelt plea for its return.
Despite this loss, Petite Patisserie continues to present an impressive selection of alternatives. Among these, the Reuben and potato leek stand out as exceptional choices. Additionally, their sourdough bread, bagels, danishes, cruffins, and cookies are all commendable, showcasing the bakery's commitment to quality and flavor. Overall, while the absence of the casserole is keenly felt, the diverse offerings ensure that there remains much to savor at this charming...
