Alright, hold onto your lawn chairs, because Hickory Park in Mountain Home, Arkansas, is the cat’s pajamas! This ain’t just a park—it’s a time-honored community hotspot, born in the mid-20th century when hickory trees ruled and bell-bottoms were cool. Bring your kids for a romp, or catch epic concerts on a stage so sturdy it could host a rhinoceros rave. Upgraded in the ‘90s, that stage’s modern trussing is practically immortal. The park’s a year-round party with festivals and fairs that’d make your grandma jitterbug. Love quirky? Challenge a pal on the giant chessboard or wander the shady trails, whispering secrets like the Ozark explorers of old. Parking’s a breeze with spots at nearby banks and businesses, a godsend since the park’s been drawing crowds since the ‘70s county fairs. Pro tip: bring a chair and arrive early—flat spots are rarer than a polite internet argument. The city keeps it cleaner than a whistle, and they dish out books and meals for the homeless, proving Mountain Home’s heart is bigger than a monster truck. Hickory Park’s a gem where history, fun, and community high-five—don’t miss it!

Every time we visit in Mountain Home, I take my daughter to this park. It has a good selection of playground equipment. There are 3 separate equipment spaces: one for toddlers, one for older children, and then a section which is designed to be inclusive for children with mobility issues. We also found a this neat enormous chess set. A great park.

Honestly can't say a lot about the park, I was there with some friends for a concert that evening so I didn't see much but people. Nice incline at the amphitheater you can see for a long way. I did notice a life-size chess set.

I've been in Hickory Park for a long time. 3 Decades. I've been there since when i was a little kid in the 80s. I was there at home. And i was there in School. Yes i like Playground including swing set, spinning hang thing, Climbing shaped like a Caterpillar and that picnic tables too. Also more places as well. I been there since Preschool, then, Kindergarten, then Della Ruth Elementary, then Nelson Wilks Elementary, but i was not there while i was in Guy Berry Intermediate. But i was there while i was in Pinkston Middle School, and finally High School. My final day i was there in Hickory Park. Was April of 2000. 3 Years before i graduated from school. I missed Hickory Park after 3 Decades because i am adult. All those little kids loves to go there just like i did many years ago. And i remember 20 Years ago when all my former friends did went there one time before i graduated from school as well. And yes we went to Dairy Queen one time as well inside to buy us an Ice Cream Cone. And after that we went back there before we went back to Pinkston and went to Mr. Enoch's Music Class and went home. Someday i may revisit Hickory Park. But not this year. So i give it 5 Stars for Hickory Park. And my apology for a long...

Hickory Park is our little gem right here in town—a place where every kid gets to be part of the fun, no matter their abilities. It’s what they call an all-inclusive park, and let me tell you, it lives up to the name. Jossi loves climbing the big jungle gym and pretending it’s a castle, while Trick is all about the spinning seats and slides—he could stay there all day if we let him. The colors are bright, the ground is soft, and there’s just something special about seeing kids of all kinds playing side by side like it’s the most natural thing in the world. It’s more than just a park—it’s a place where joy doesn’t...
