This is less a review of the ER, and more directed toward a specific doctor there. So I apologize for the one star rating. The ER and staff overall is without a doubt 5 stars.

I would like to thank Dr Alex Acle of UPMC Muncy Emergency Room, for taking away one of the last places my fiancĂŠ felt she could find safety and relief. I'll preface this by saying every other doctor and staff member at that hospital has been wonderful...

She has been dealing with a chronic difficult to treat illness that frequently and unpredictably puts her in agonizing crippling pain, along with being completely unable to eat or drink even water as any intake leads to uncontrollable vomiting. Which being a diabetic of course frequently leads to dehydration and sugar levels that can be incredibly difficult to control at home. We came here on the orders of not only her primary care doctor, but also her doctors from both UPMC Williamsport's GI and Pain Management offices. When the pain and/or vomiting become uncontrollable, go to the ER. Dr Smith at the Pain Management office even personally recommended Muncy Hospital due to shorter waits and an excellent staff. And he was right, for the most part.

Then we met Dr Acle. Twice we have seen him. The first visit, he was simply callus and rude, but felt it was serious enough to have her admitted to UPMC Williamsport. A few more visits and months later we met Dr Acle again. Only this time it was worse. This was July 4th. On the previous day, July 3rd, we had come to the very same ER and upon being discharged was instructed that if the symptoms came back to please come back in. They did the next morning. Upon checking her charts and seeing frequent recent visits to the ER, he jumped down her throat about coming to the Emergency room to treat her condition. All while being a few short feet away with NO MASK on. Keep in mind she was following her other doctors’ orders.

Almost every question she was asked was returned with some kind of argument or unnecessary remark. With it culminating in Dr Acle telling her that she should be having her Primary care or GI doctors treat her rather than seeking help at the ER. Keep in mind that both of those offices have instructed her to go to the ER to control the random severe flare ups, especially if she’s unable to eat or drink for an extended period of time. She’s a diabetic.

Having been dealing with debilitating pain and many hospital admissions over the course of nearly 5 years while the other doctors scratch their heads trying to figure out how to treat her has left her battered and fragile. 5 years of severe pain and little relief can leave a person with very little will to keep pushing forward. We’ve been to most all the other Emergency Rooms in the area and the quality of care provided by UPMC Muncy has been by far the best. But with a fragile psyche from years of pain and exhaustion, along with documented and treated anxiety, she’s now ready to give up. Your hospital, along with an excellent doctor at Pain Management, was her last bastions of hope. She is now afraid that she won’t be treated in your office now due to him. She is borderline ready to give up because she feels no one cares, and you’re all giving up on her. This is ridiculous. She’s 28 years old with a young daughter. An emergency care doctor shouldn’t be the reason she’s feeling this way. If she gives up, it’s on...

DO NOT GO HERE ‼️

Back in 2017 I was misdiagnosed, completely lied to & treated like actual garbage by Dr.Ron. I ended up getting sepsis and transferred myself after a long fight with him, to Geisinger in Danville.

Fast forward to today March of 2023. I go in to get my blood pressure checked and for my baby to be monitored. My doctor starts asking me questions “how do you know your blood pressures high?” “Well you’re pregnant that’s normal you know?”. Meanwhile I can’t sleep. I can’t breathe. My blood pressure was 156/111. I spent the summer taking 10 mile hikes. This is NOT normal. He then proceeds to ask me about my children…. Saying I was a young mother. Calling me young lady. Just being disrespectful and unprofessional. AND THEN IT ALL CLICKED. This was the doctor who almost killed me when I was pregnant with my first child in 2017. I did not remember his face because I was on the verge of death, but when the nurse came in and said my doctor was Ron…. It sunk in. A whole different doctors name was written on my board.

I then proceeded to ask for him to not enter my room. The nurse says okay and leaves. The door opens, no knock. And it’s Dr. Ron standing there “what’s the issue young lady?”. I asked for a different doctor politely and he goes “oh okay” and stares at me blankly for about two minutes. He then leaves without fully shutting my door and peeps in twice. I ask the nurses for my discharge papers, 20-30 minutes pass and my concerns are ignored. My heart rate was 135 after I found that out. Machine beeping nonstop. None of the nurses cared.

I took my BP cuff, heart monitor cords & IV out and walked right out of there.

NEVER AGAIN WILL I TRUST YOUR STAFF. You are unprofessional, rude, ill mannered and liars. I WILL be reporting this and I will not live this down until Dr. Ron is fired and your entire staff gets...

This was the experience of my cousin who is too sick to type this, but I have no problem doing so. Our problem is with your hospital staff, particularly Judy and Sara! He was obviously racially profiled! "I arrived to the hospital around 8:30 PM on 1/19/22. When I arrived to the hospital there were only 8 people in the waiting area. I was running a high temp, so I was instructed to wait in the foyer of the hospital. Within an hour all of the patients that were in the waiting room ,when I arrived, had been seen and discharged. There were 3 other people that came in after me, and we all had the same symptoms. I, along with another person of color, were the only people made to wait in the foyer of the hospital. After waiting until 11:30, Everyone had been seen and discharged except me and the other person in the foyer. We ended up driving to another hospital!"

After doing some digging of my own, I learned that the lady, Judy, that he was referring to was previously fired from a daycare for telling a small black child that he was probably crying excessively because his mother was an addict! Is this the type of treatment that goes on in...
