We picked Basil because we've gone before and really enjoyed it. But booking was pretty difficult through email waiting long periods of time to hear back. I had called in a few times for booking and never spoke to anyone over the phone. We booked months in advance and had to makeup a smaller menu which was fine. But a few weeks before our wedding I reached out to make sure everything was still fine. They said the menu had changed and I expected some change but almost every chicken item was changed into fish/seafood. We have family higher allergic to seafood. Which I feel we should have been contacted considering I had to make up a menu for our dinner party. The evening of our dinner party we arrived a half hour early. I was told we could arrive an hour early. But had to ask to be let in and at first the workers did not want to do that. We ordered drinks and dinner. And it took approximately 2 hours or a little longer to receive our food. After asking how long it would be because our entire party was waiting for their dinners. Our food came out cold and flavorless. Overall disappointed in the business we received. From booking/communication to dinner the evening of.
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR AGAIN HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS.
I am so sorry you feel so triggered by my bad review you had to act so unprofessional publicly. BUT as stated our menu was changed and we were Never made aware of the change until I reached out to your business. I was only given the option to create a small menu firstly until I requested a refund which you refused and is why we came to start with. Then you gave me options to order one kind of food for everyone which wasn't what we wanted. And why we chose your restaurant to begin with. I was only made aware of your $50 "cakeage" fee After booking just to use your utensils to cut our cake! Not before booking when I should have been made aware of Any extra fees! Emailing back n forth took an Extended Amount of time to simply book 1 room.
We arrived a half hour early and our family slowly followed that arrival time. Everyone was seated at the Exact same time shortly after arrival. We all were ready to order and did so. (Our waitress was wonderful!) And treated as such!! Your bartender I spoke to about our dinners STILL not being ready 2 HOURS after ordering was also just as shocked as we all were! The food was Not at all hot it was cold or barely warm. Several people said it was flavorless. I have had your establishments food before it loved it. This was Not the case Saturday.
NOT once did a single person apologize to us for the extended wait for our dinners for a party of (20) most on the same bills might I add!!! Your business knew of our dinner party months in advance. You should have been staffed to accommodate on a timely manner.
I apologize you feel so radical about my review. This was not my intention. My intention was to hopefully get an apology as it's been days and I hadn't received one. Or so you could maybe improve your business. Because this was a HUGE let down on our wedding day.

Read moreI was so excited to try this place, the pictures of their food always look great! My sister planned her wedding dinner there (20 people - 5 of whom were children and all 5 got chicken fingers and fries). We walked in and the atmosphere is great (great decor, clean, and inviting), we went back to the room My sister paid to rent (mind you months in advance), and it was cute. Our waitress was great! Super sweet, made sure to keep drinks coming if needed, (did wait a bit to get food orders taken but still, we get it, it was a Saturday night). None of that was my issue, my issue is it took almost 2 hours from the time we got in there and everyone seated to get our meals (mind you Again this was known was happening for Months, and 5 of the 20 meals We’re the same thing (chicken fingers and fries) and 1 person just got a bowl Of soup, so there was only 14 meals total) but then it’s just under $10 for a kids meal (literally each kid got 4/5 tiny chicken fingers and a few fries, considering their kids meals are higher priced then anywhere I have ever been (we frequent other pricier restaurants often, and theirs are never $10, and the others include a drink), then they have no dips for the chicken fingers which are 1 of the only 2 kids options they have, anyone who knows kids knows they like sauce (idc if you keep Kraft dips in different flavors, but if I’m paying double the price of most kids meals put some in a damn dish for my kid!) I will say that sure some of the food was very good, but then there was a good bit that was not the quality we were expecting, and while the appetizers and kids meals Came out hot (kids meals came much earlier then adults), many of the adult meals were not hot like they should be, they were more of a Luke warm.
Normally I wouldn’t go on such a rant, but for the fact that there were hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent, and the only person that came out and kept apologizing for the wait, etc was our waitress, is there no manager/owner/someone in charge working to make sure customers are receiving their things/happy with their service?? When someone books a room in your establishment and pays extra to be there eating and then they are made To be the bad guy, I am appalled! Customer service definitely isn’t blaming your patrons and denying everything! I really hope you prepare better for any future parties, and not attack your customers when anything is brought up, take the feedback and make the next party’s experience better then...
Read moreI enjoyed my food very much. Had one of their pizzas and it was very good. My g/f has celiac and we went here because they advertise as having gluten free options.
They do have gluten free options. What they do not have are protocols in place to prevent cross contamination. My g/f ordered a pizza on a gluten free crust. We were told by our waitress that they have an oven specifically dedicated to gluten free pizzas. Within an hour after eating, she was having a gluten attack...vomiting a few times over an hour with continued dry heaving for another 2 hours, aches and pains in her joints over night. Just all around painful and unpleasant for her.
Here's my observations:
They list a few items on their menu as Gluten Free but they fry them in the same fryers as items with gluten. That means there's going to be cross contamination. It's very misleading to describe something as being G/F when it's going to be cross contaminated during the preparation and/or cooking process.
They either prepared the G/F pizza on a contaminated surface or they cooked it in a contaminated oven.
If you don't have any gluten allergies or Celiac to worry about, then this is a perfectly fine restaurant. The food was very good. My g/f loved her pizza, she just hated the after affects.
But if you are allergic to gluten, then I would recommend avoiding until the menu is appropriately updated and cross contamination issues are resolved.
The one star rating is because of a misleading menu and a lack of proper protocols in...
