This is an amazing place. Get a guided tour if you have the time. Angie was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Museum. Just some of the facts: 1. Sheriff Bass Reeves made Muskogee his home after he retired from Judge Parker. 2. Girl Scout Cookies were first baked at a Muskogee High School. They were shipped to soldiers if not sold. 3. Oklahoma's first Governor was fr Muskogee. 4. Muskogee was originally spelled Muscogee. The postmistress got so many misspelled letters she changed the spelling of the town's name. 5. There is an original one-room school house. Interesting history you don't want to miss. Just go visit!

Little known fact:. Muskogee is the place where the first Girl Scout cookies were made and sold. Price? 2 cookies for a dime. They were made in the kitchen of the local high school. Our guide was enthusiastic about her museum

Great museum! Large building, with a variety of interesting topics and exhibits. Including a train engine you can enter. And an old school house, which wasn't opened at our visit. Highly recommend!

Has Exceptional Trolley Tours, Great exhibits, do not miss the Diesel locomotive in the back and the the period schoolhouse. Their history program (History Explorers) is second to none and now they have a entertainment and street vendors once a week. OH I would be remiss if I did not mention the tribute to the girl scouts out in front. For the serious researchers there is the archives, by special appointment.Thomas-Foreman Historic Home is part of the same group, in there do not miss the picture of the first US submarine post WWI. Many people miss the second facility it is about 2 mile away from the main. Lots of history of Oklahoma in this site. Note the water supplied to the house was via a cistern in the back. The flowers...

Learned a lot of unique historic facts about the Muskogee area, particularly James Ledbetter, Bass Reeves, and learning that muskogee was the birth place for girl scout cookies. I was impressed by the content and by the kindness of the staff. They also had a great gift shop with an awesome selection. I was just impressed with this quaint little museum. It's a must-see of your...
