This beach is huge! It has decent facilities. In the changing areas, there are also private showers that you can pay to shower. Its 75 cents for 3 minutes and an additional quarter for each extra minute. They have a nice little store with some Scarborough, Narrangansett, and Rhode Island hoodies, pants, shirts, shorts, blankets, Ornaments, hats, stickers, magnets and beach toys.
For non-residents, the price is $12 per car during the week and $14 per car on the weekend and holidays. They have a season pass that you can buy online. It is $60. I know the price is cheaper for Rhode Island Residents, but since I live out of state, I didn't pay attention to those prices, but I believe they are about half the price of non-residents. The workers arrive for 10am. After 6pm, the workers go home, and there is no longer life guards or facilities open.
There are food options. They have Twin Lobsters, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, burger, hotdogs, garden salad, pretzels and a couple other options. They also have a frozen drink counter, where you can get slushie type drinks. There was an ice cream stand as well with dippin dots and a couple other ice cream options. Alcohol is not served, because it is a state beach and not allowed. Food options close at 6pm with the facilities and life guards.
Anything you bring there, you must bring back, including garbage, so I suggest bringing an empty bag with you for trash. You can also not fly a kite, skim board, or play games like soccer or beach volleyball, during the day. If you want to fly a kite or play games, I believe you would have to go further down the beach. There was people playing volleyball at the end of the beach area, so I believe it...
Read moreIt's just so beautiful and clean, safe. Those who don't travel & see beautiful and water due to limited funds it's just awesome. Not just the adults, the children love it and you feel like you took them on a trip, a trip that cost's $. But nope, the entire family has a great time. There are bathrooms for all, showers, a store and can even eat a nice meal. I thank you for always keeping it clean & enjoyable, especially the happiness with the family.. When it comes to this beach, there's nothing you can say negative in my eyes & my visits since I was a child. Now at the age of 40ty something, I not only shared with my children but most important my grandchildren. There are quite a few beaches we get to choose from but it's not the same. The waters you can't see through, rocks n just trashy, so much so my grandkids have a hard time getting into the water. At this 1, no problem except... Trying to set up and stop them from just...
Read moreThis is confident 2 star review, the most 2 star beach I've ever been to. You pay $14 to get in and park. . . but for what? Sure there are bathrooms (kinda not great condition) and changing rooms (also kinda not great) and ZERO trashcans. There are vendors selling ice cream and food everywhere but no where to toss your trash responsibly afterwards. The whole "take your trash home with you" policy, is a bit overly idealistic and it ends up everywhere. Somehow the beach remains mildly clean but the trash ends up in the ocean come on, $14 a car. Pay your lifeguards, put out some trashcans (or put them near the indoor areas if you are worried about the seagulls) maintain your bathrooms. It isn't hard and it doesn't take a master class in accounting to budget this effectively. 2...
