Location. 300 feet from hotel on the beach. Easy walk. Takes about 5 min. Careful crossing street. Service was nice friendly professional. Easy to work with. Rooms were average. Showers small and tend to get water on floor. Sand is a problem because it is so fine. Use buckets outside under air conditioners to wash feet and shoes. Hotel room walls are thin and it can get loud. But most folk seem good about not causing any problems. Put air conditioner on dry and you will drown any noise out. Coffee in morning and some packages bagels. Juice in small fridge. $260 + tax = $300. For one night just off season but on weekend. Location is key.

Spur moment plan staycation for a day 2hr drive well worth come view ocean, have places to dine and wine, will come again, was able find place with ease, service check in booked via hotel.com have rooms can pay more still room booked clean, nice comfy bed, sheets soft hand feel, offer coffee in the morning, despite all renovations, new owners have done great with decor, resurface exterior. Will plan trip again! Add couple more days see how much stepping can do , how far can reach lighthouse and back...

All you smell is mold when you open the door. Things are covered up but not fixed. Mold on the ceiling in bathroom above shower as shown in pictures below. Sore throat and coughing next morning!! Fridge freezes food in the refrigerator part. There is zero outside lights on this building (there are 3 buildings) it is uneven, a lot rocks and very dangerous at night. You can hear everything from upstairs!! Zero privacy!! NOT WORTH $133 A NIGHT OFF SEASON!!!!

CONTAMINATED WITH MOLD! It kills me to write a poor review for a small family business - but this property has a significant health and safety issue for people staying here. As multiple other people have noted in reviews - this property has an issue with mold and seems to be in denial about it.||Immediately upon opening the hotel room door you are struck with the smell and mustiness. Worse, and perhaps even stranger, is this hotel has plug-in dehumidifiers sitting on the floor in the room. We arrived with ours full of standing water which we had to empty out as they are not even hooked up to pumps - they require being emptied out. We drove from 5 hours away and got in late and just wanted to sleep - so this really was not pleasant.||I called the manager to explain my concerns and he denied completely that there was any mold issue and that "every room has a dehumidifier because we are close to the ocean" and to "look at the cars with humidity on them in the morning:".||First off - this property is not right on the ocean. It is a hundred to hundreds of yards away. I have stayed in 5 other properties from Jamestown to Newport which are as close or closer to the ocean and none of them needed dehumidifiers or had mold issues. I also grew up on the Atlantic just as close to the ocean and I, nor anyone in my neighborhood, needed dehumidifiers. It is not like this was a basement level property either! We were on the second floor of this hotel!||I tried to make the best of it, leave the window open, and lay in bed but after about 30 minutes I felt my eyes and throat swelling up and we simply had to leave. The call to the manager did not offer to move us to another room so I called another hotel 2 miles up the road and moved our things at 10pm. It was not until I dropped the key off did they offer to switch us and by that point we were done. FYI the other hotel was closer to the ocean and had 0 issues with mold or smell. I have felt sick for two days after being in the room for even 30 minutes.||Please address this mold issue! It is probably inside of the walls. Fresh paint and linens are not...

If I could give zero stars I would, but here it is. I booked 4 reservations total from June-August, in early April for events I have this summer. A deposit was not required at the time of booking, because the reservations were guaranteed by a credit card. Randomly one night a 10pm I get a notification from my credit card company that I was charged from Scarborough Beach Motel that day, 2 months before my June reservation date. Obviously surprised, I call them and I am told that ownership changed suddenly and now I am required to pay a deposit per their new policy. This was unacceptable since there was no call or email to tell me I was about to be charged. I disagreed with this action, stating that the original policy should be honored since I made the reservations prior to the ownership change. The person I spoke with compromised with me, and said I would be charged a month before check in, and I agreed to this.

A week later I get a call at 7pm from a man who works there stating that I either have to pay over $1,000.00 now to keep my 4 reservations.. or they are being canceled. Again, I was surprised since I thought this situation was already resolved. The man I spoke with this time began berating me, and yelling saying the hotel has renovations to pay for and they need the money to cover those costs. He lied trying to say I cancel last minute, which I don't... and even if I did, that is why you have my credit card on file so you can charge it right? The way this man acted was absolutely horrendous and unprofessional. Every time I tried to speak, he interrupted me, to the point where I had to yell over him. This man I spoke with clearly has no respect for women. I have never dealt with a situation like this with a business, and I am warning everyone that the new ownership is rude, and their motive is greed... and its sad because the former owner was a wonderful person.

Yes the location of this hotel is lovely, but I refuse to support businesses who treat customers with such disrespect and disregard. Their behavior is inappropriate and this is a warning to anyone choosing...

I would NEVER recommend staying at this establishment. While the location is good, you are better off pitching a tent and sleeping on a beach than staying in one of these disgustingly dirty rooms. If you chose to sleep at the beach you would have less sand than we did in our room and we didn't even go to the beach. I stayed here with two friends because we were in town for a wedding. We checked in quickly to get into the room before the wedding, but we weren't able to do a full sweep of the room, or set up our bed. When we returned to the hotel to sleep after midnight we noticed there was no one in the lobby. When we got in the room we noticed a few things: the floor was covered in sand, there was trash in the fridge from previous guests, there was no toilet paper, no paper towel, gum on the wall AND unclean sheets on the bed. ||||When we went to check out in the morning I told the front desk of our issues expecting that they would give us some sort of discount or refund because that type of service is completely unacceptable. The woman at the desk said "oh we have had a problem with that cleaner" and "yes, the room next door to you also had a similar problem". She didn't offer any sort of compensation aside from "sorry" and she clearly knew this was an issue. I find that completely unacceptable. They should have at least taken off some amount of money for the inconvenience. ||||When I returned home I reviewed the establishment on Orbitz as that was where the reservation was booked. This hotel had the audacity to respond to me saying that the situation was rectified and that they came to clean the room when we asked! This never occurred as we stayed in room 121 not room 119, who also had an unclean space. I find this incredibly embarrassing for them and think it is utterly disgusting that in a time when cleanliness is so important this hotel could not provide a clean...
