I was training for my 2nd marathon, when I started having pain in my hips that prevented me from running. I met with Dr. Dunaway and I'm so glad that I did. He helped release the muscles that were tight, and then showed me how to activate and strengthen the muscles that aid me in running. I don't think I would have been able to finish my training, or wouldn't have done so injury free, had I not gone to Dr. Dunaway. Applying the things that Dr. Dunaway taught me resulted in a change in my running form. My shoes use to wear on the outsides, whereas now there is some wear there, but there is more wear on where the balls of my feet are located. I finished my marathon and had some tension in my hips afterwards. Thanks to Dr. Dunaway, I knew what to do to alleviate it. I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up the morning after my marathon and did not have any stiffness or pain. Within minutes of sitting down at my first session with Dr. Dunaway, I knew this was going to be different. Why? Because he sat and listened attentively to what I was explaining. I could see the wheels turning, and I would come to know later it was running my issues through the prism of his vast knowledge of the body and causes of pain.
He then made it a point to show me drills and stretches to build and train the muscles and...prevent the pain from returning? That's right. Dr. Dunaway's big secret is trying to prevent you from needing him again. When he does get to the adjustment it is intentional and purposeful.

He used various techniques that showed he knew what he was doing and that he really cared to figure out what was causing the pain. He showed me excercizes I could do at home to help my coordination which was a lot of the cause of my pain. He took time to make sure I understood what was going on and why he was asking me to do certain moves.
