Very large well worn, two and three story, complex attempted to revitalize with low-cost furnishings and a fresh coat of paint. An unusual color combination of dark brown and lime green. Many building component problems throughout. Could attribute most to the age of the structure. Mold in bathroom. Door when slammed closed was a ½â from jamb. The plastic threshold on the door appeared homemade. The second safety door lock was broke off. I was always unsure if the door was actually locked or not. The room smelled like stale urine. AC loud, filters clean. Significant other was not at all happy that we were staying in this "place". This room had one queen bed. Wall decorations were old record memorabilia that appeared dirty from an old attic. Mattress thin and non-supportive. Pillows, linens average, with one of everything for two people. Paper products were the cheapest that could be bought. Lighting dark even with all the lights on. Television adequate but the channel software was slow, not user friendly, and could not find a guide pressing on remote. Nice countertop and sink area. Fridge and microwave present but in another stand away from the countertop. The bathroom had no ventilation but did have a strange closet configuration. This room would work out well for a single occupant worker who was on a long-term stay if the odor could be tolerated and the door secured and sealed. I made a reservation at this facility because of the photos of the work out facility and game room. I was not disappointed there is a large modern area of real gym machines that I was pleasantly surprised with compared to the rest of the atmosphere and amenities. There is also an attached spacious game room and a small dark television area. Breakfast bar is minimal. The time I spent at Hilltop, it was a ghost town. There were twelve cars in the huge parking lot on the morning we left. I saw no more than twenty guests during our stay. At night, the vast majority of the rooms were unoccupied, the room curtains were open and the lights in the room were on; thought to give an ambiance and lighting for those walking outside the dark facility. I always have a series of questions to ask the desk personnel about the facility, location, places to eat, and attractions. The slow front desk was having none of it. There were no brochures of Nashville and if I wanted a map I could probably go down the hill to the gas station and maybe they might have one. It was an unpleasant interaction and I did not even ask close to all of my inquiring questions. I would stay here again if other options were not available. The significant other...
Read moreNeighborhood is very shady. Our room was nicely decorated & modern looking, however, we received the room in a dirty state. Used diaper and rubbish in trash can. Filthy, filthy shower stall and glass doors. Oatmeal strewn about on floor & inside shower stall. Floor dirty & NOT mopped clean. Desk chair of really poor quality & was dirty & stained. Provided, was a new ironing board and iron. Board was flimsy, poor quality. Cover was marked with powder makeup/pinkish color. Almost ironed into clothes we were preparing to attend a wedding. Your iron board covering needs to be washed. Iron however was brand new & worked really well & was super clean, because it was new. No elevator...if you have heavy things to lug around make sure you are on first floor. Booked on Air B&B, who gave very little to no info, that is helpful or accurately descriptive. On a great note, bed/Mattress was pretty new and AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE. Great sleep. Sheets were of a weird synthetic quality that does NOT breathe well in the summer humidity. Nice counter with sink. LOTS of storage cabinets that were very clean, because they were brand new. No vent in bathroom. Huge closet was a plus but located inside large bathroom, with no vent. We had to help clean the room, because the Front Desk Associate was the only staff on hand. No alternative rooms were avail. Pics used for marketing on Air B&B are deceptive about what you are getting. Area did NOT HAVE quality places to eat within approx 3 to 5 mile radius. Waffle House had 2 security guards placed out front & only served breakfast food. Even McDonalds was closed, including drive thru. The Irish Pub onsite with hotel, The Lost Paddy, was DISGUSTING. Had a HORRIBLE Smell right as you walk in. Sticky floor, sticky tables & chairs...We walked in, thought about sitting and had to walk right back out. What was amazing, was that it was pretty busy all-night long, into the wee hours of the night. Probably due to Karaoke, which was at an uncomfortably LOUD setting. Ear poppingly loud. Too loud to attempt dining. Staff seemed not to care about the place or customers. Wasn't sure we could trust food coming out of that dump. Not the...
Read moreI would like to start by saying the staff was friendly and the lobby is well maintained. After leaving o decided to look through all the reviews because the experience of the room was poor. Upon reading I'm starting to think that the rooms on the right hand side of the restaurant are probably better maintained than the rooms on the left hand side... Just a theory but we did stay in room 400. We left the same night we checked in due to not feeling comfortable. It's strange because that wasn't how we felt in the lobby area. Upon walking into the room there were many cob webs attached to the ceiling and there was a bug crawling across the floor. The dirt on the floor was not visible until you checked the bottom of your foot. The lighting in the room was lacking but there are bendable lights on the desk that we were able to manipulate and point towards the center of the room. When the air was turned on it smelled extremely bad! like sewage. After killing a large spider we decided to leave.
I don't normally leave reviews because most people just bash the place they stayed. We made the decision to stay there and we also chose to leave because our family did not feel comfortable. Suggestions for improvement Place all smoking guests on the top floors, so that the smoking rooms don't bother the non smoking rooms. Maintained your heating and cooling systems *Seal all doorways, windows, and cooling units, so bugs don't get in Remove texture from the ceilings to allow less opportunity for spiders to attach to. Sealing the rooms better should also help. *Use a steam mop on the floors during cleaning Add lighting to the center of the ceiling. *Don't use a white comforter to create a clean look... choose comforters with more personality to fit the vibe of the room. *Add a tub in the bathroom, families with small children will definitely appreciate this. *Plates, bowls, cups, forks, spoons, and knives would be nice since the investment has been made in a full size fridge. Cleaning rag or sponge with liquid soap to wash the dishes. The dollar store should have all of these things available.
Best wishes and good fortune to the...
