Updated at Google's request for 2025: Another major 3D renovation this year, along with at least five brand new scenes, lots of new animations, major lighting upgrades, and a beefy cast make this haunt a must see, even if you went in 24. The experience seems more seamless and intense, and based on reviews people are noticing the work and responding with great reviews.
Also, Devils Dungeon is currently the most affordable professional haunted house in Nashville, and even cheaper with discounts. It's the best deal in town if you genuinely want to get scared. Something will ALWAYS get you here, even if you are a grizzled haunt worker and attend attractions all over the country like myself !
Updated at Google's request for 2024: Devil's Dungeon had tons of new animatronics added this year-big ones, including giant possum. Yep. A possum. You gotta see this one and the towering pumpkin monster for yourself. Not to be confused with the other five or six giant pumpkin monsters already there. Lol. The outside was decorated more and the line atmosphere seemed warmer. Actors got several good scares out of me. Scene updates lacked a certain charm most do here this year, but it seems like cranking the scares up to 11 was their focus. Lots of new jump scare automations. Overall still a solid haunt for the last 20 or so seasons I've been able to go. Would recommend as a must go at least every other year to catch what's new !
2022 update: Major 3D renovation, tons of new animatronics, a couple new scenes, and about 30 actors through the haunt. Shaping up to be another great year. Would still recommend even if you went the year before.
2021 update: Devil's Dungeon is back in full force. Actor and obstacle restrictions have been lifted by metro codes and the haunt is packed with new actors, obstacles, and scares this year. Highly recommend you check out this haunt this year !
2020 update: Devil's Dungeon is still going strong despite Covid-19 and it's resulting changes to haunts across the country. No doors, flaps, or curtains to push through and characters were wearing masks throughout. At least five new scenes this year and great animatronics help make up for all the things Covid has taken from haunts this year.
Definitely still a must see in Nashville !
2019 update: '18 was great, '19 is shaping up to be an amazing show. Still a must see in the Nashville area when it comes to haunted houses. New cast, new scenes, updated lighting and effects.... You won't be disappointed. Always loved Devil's Dungeon. Glad they are coming back in 2017. Be warned, the folks that work here are twisted, weird, and sometimes slightly perverse, but don't believe all the negative hype; just do yourself a favor: don't bring your kids if they aren't old enough to handle some horror movie level gore and adult themes, and I promise you will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI honestly wasn't really that scared by it. When we first walked in my (small) group was put with another (small) group infront of us and I think because of that most stuff triggered for them first before us. There were also a lot of animatronics, like more than there were scare actors, so it honestly didn't really feel scary cause you can tell how fake everything is. I think it would've been nice if there were more real people. The scared actors also didn't really scare much. I think the most effective scares were when they were hiding in plain sight, even when they pop from the shadows it wasn't that scary for me personally; but it was definitely startling when the actors would blend in with the props and other animatronics. I also think maybe a real maze with scare actors inside that would chase you (not touch ofc) and scare you would be better than a "maze" with a bunch of connecting doors and looping routes. But I do get that the idea of a proper maze is more expensive and time consuming. I do also think it would be super fun if you had a mirror or a glass maze with the 3D goggles, since mirror mazes are such classics in horror tropes. This wasn't really the scariest haunted house but effort and money was definitely put into it. I suppose I don't really get scared that easily and I'm sure the average Joe was scared, but I wasn't and just wanted to hinestly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am an avid Haunted House goer, and was excited to go to the Devil's Dungeon this year, as in years past, this was our "go to" Haunted House (we haven't been in 4-5 years to this one). I was HIGHLY disappointed, and will NEVER be back! I agree with rainbow555ish review, as I felt like I needed to take a shower after going through the Haunted House as the actors were lucid in stating sexual comments to the groups going through. Our experience first was an actor was dressed in a bunny costume and had what appeared to be an object stuffed in his genital area and rubbing himself out in the parking lot before you even went into the Haunted House. Next we ran across him again in the dark maze asking if anyone wanted to touch his penis. We also had characters advising us their father made them bleed (that was the nicest thing they said, as I don't want to get too graphic). I understand this is make believe and scary, but I think this was a bit crossing the line with under age teenagers (which I brought 4 teenagers, 1 was 19 and the other 3 were 16). Devil's Dungeon was always one of the better Haunted Houses we would attend, but for some reason, this year, it has gone down hill. For a HH to be in business for 17 years, I would expect more from the actors and the set up of the Haunted House. We attended on 10/31/2015 when they opened...
