UPDATE: Three weeks following my initial post, Caleb Gregory reached out to better understand my experience, seek feedback, and offer apologies for the experience I had. After a productive phone-call, I have full-confidence that my experience was truly a one-off...the error that made it through several layers of Swiss Cheese. I accept Caleb's offer to refresh my experience if I am ever in Nashville again and would recommend other owners emulate this leadership practice. Caleb, I appreciate your empathy and excellent customer service...I am confident our paths will cross again.
ORIGINAL POST: From the perspective of both a Drop-in and Military service member, I was disappointed. First and foremost, there was no greeting by the coaches. Second, today the workout was to honor those we lost in Kabul, but the coach incorrectly stated that it was thirteen soldiers, not being culturally aware that marines and a sailor was also lost. There was no additional information discussed or provided on the subject either which leads me to believe this was a hollow act, which as a member currently serving, take offense to. The class was disorganized with no actual coaching. I know this gym has a lot of hype due to the PRVN team utilizing this facility, but I would encourage the staff to be more deliberate when recognizing fallen service members, take more time to coach and improve the way athletes move through space and time, and not let drop-ins fall through the cracks, even if it is one coach for ~60 athletes. The $25 drop-in fee was not returned with services other than equipment use essentially making the experience the same as going to a globogym. Recommend visitors to the Nashville area try...
Read morePassed by Nashville and had a drop in class with my husband at this gym @9am. We both felt very negative and disappointed about this gym!
1). No one was at front desk to give any indication or information, tho we’ve registered online to reserve the class
2). The coach came in few min before 9:30 and just started class, without greet us and other drop-ins, pretended everyone supposed to be there as usual. We didn’t feel welcomed at all. They probably didn’t know new ppl would show up, except for the gym computer system knew!
3). Class was felt VERY LOW ENERGY, Coach voice was so low and could barely hear any direction from him; no encouragement; no time counts - few times he’d chat with someone but forget the timer to tell ppl start / stop
4). Disorganized. Warmup session, we had to watch other ppl and mimic them for the moves; during 20 - 30 seconds of EMOM breaks, the coach tried to explain next chunk of workout, it just...
Read moreThis gym is amazing! I think it's a perfect place to workout. I travel a good bit, and I always try to drop in to local gyms as I love Crossfit. And based on that experience Crossfit East Nashville is perhaps the best box that I've ever worked out at. The gym is super spacious and has lots of good equipment. The staff are welcoming and treat you with a lot of care and kindness. But it is the instruction which, in my view, really sets this place apart. The coaches at this gym are spectacular. Even though I'm dropping-in, I receive a lot of quality and focused instruction as if I were a regular member . I actually have another gym I can work-out at for free when I visit Nashville, but I always go to Crossfit East Nashville because the experience is that excellent and, simply put, the place is second to none. I would strongly recommend this box, without...
