Did not use services as they charge way too much just for a transfer if you just call 1 or 2 other FFL/Gun Shops you will find $20 is a very normal going rate, and the whole $250 to transfer a firearm not sent by FFL is a crime in itself (and not on the seller/sender nor the buyer) but on this shop as you do not need an FFL or be any sort of gun dealer to send a firearm to an FFL so that they can transfer it to a buyer. Let's say Grandad passes away and Grandma says he really wanted you to have this shotgun, I know it isn't worth $100 but he knows your memories of your time with him are priceless out learning and hunting with it. So do you want your grandmother to go to a gun shop fill out pesky paperwork (which is unnecessary as she can just send it herself) then charge her money for making her do paperwork and they have a little to do also, then overcharge her on the shipping as everyone along the money train has to take their cut. But she could just ship herself to an FFL (just call around to shops near you and find ones charging fair prices and make sure they are not trying to rip people off like this place by saying it wasn't sent by an FFL (I imagine crying to make you feel bad so they can try to keep your items or steal your money seeing how they are going to charge you $250!!! This is not a law federally nor State law, City law nor County law. It is just a GREED con made up by them). Watch out as many places willing to willing to do you this dirty (especially when it comes to something as important as dealing with the 2nd Amendment) There is no telling what else places that are willing to act this out there are willing to try to get more money but you at every turn (not saying they are they might but others sure do). Most FFL places will do these transfers for a crisp 20 dollar bill maybe $25, and that's still reasonable. Have to watch out these days places don't feel bad for taking advantage of people anymore. But do your job also by calling and pricing around be willing to drive another 5 miles if you have to. But not this conripscamology place, who wants to charge you $250 dollars JUST CAUSE I guess. and 30 dollars "if you are a member" what are you a country club serving dinners and drinks and making value from these memberships or only helps you to be halfway ripped off for things like an FFL transfer at 30 bucks plus 5 for something everyone else adds in for the total of $20! Non-member 60 freakin dollars you are money-hungry people. I would almost say you are anti-gunners and don't want people to own guns unless they are irresponsible with their money and willing to pay 3 times the price to do a normal transfer of a firearm at any Middle TN and most likely all 3 regions of Tennessee. As I have bought all over this great state and nowhere have I seen over-pricing like...
Read moreDrove 45 minutes to this place , on a Friday around 6 because I had a 1022 barrel I needed removed and live in an apartment so I don’t have a workshop. The guys at the counter were cool, but nothing special, and when I asked about gunsmithing told me “come in tomorrow between 9-5 and I’m sure the gunsmith will be able to help.” They even told me it would probably be free since it was a quick easy fix. So, as requested, I drove back to this place on Saturday and was there by 9:15am. The guys at the counter told me to go talk to the gunsmith, who just so happened to be hanging out around the front desk talking with what appeared to be about 5 employees. I approached the gunsmith and asked him if he could help and requested an estimate, I didn’t want to pay over $50 to have a barrel removed that I could replace the entire receiver for $100. The gunsmith seemed extremely lazy and did not want to work on my firearm at all. He said at a minimum it would be $75 and take 4 weeks for a simple barrel removal which should take 5 minutes. I decided to go Home Depot instead and for less money was able to purchase a small vise, penetrating oil, and a 300 degree heat gun. Took all the tools home and was able to remove the barrel in less than 5 minutes. Now I saved $20, didn’t have to wait 4 weeks, and have the extra tools for next time. I would be very weary about asking the gunsmith here for any work as it seems like a shady mechanic who will up charge you ridiculous amounts, be very slow, and I wouldn’t be surprised if made your issue worse than when brought to them. Only giving 2 stars because they have a decent selection of firearms and a good range with an electronic target hanger.
Edit/Reply to owner: Your gunsmith is lying to you, all I asked for was a barrel removal on a 10/22. No special tools are needed to install a barrel on a 10/22, I’ve done it many times now without any tools besides an Alan wrench for the v-block Regardless of what type of work someone is asked to do, good retail is about good customer service and your gunsmith is disrespectful, rude, and definitely lazy. Did not even want to acknowledge my request or give me any advice and wanted to continue chatting with his teenage buddies at the counter instead. The reason I said your gunsmith was lazy was because this request could have been done in 10 minutes, instead of being there to hang out, he could have done it and made your shop some money. My conclusion has absolutely nothing to do with cost I just didn’t want to wait a month. I got my kidd barrel installed, it fit easy and it shoots great. Can hit a dime from 100 yards, but thanks for your...
Read moreCustomer service is absolutely horrible. When you have to call the TBI yourself and do their job for them. They will treat you like you are beneath them and talk to you like a piece of trash. I will never shop here or get an FFL transfer to this place. Outpost Armory or High Caliber in Lebanon, my wife and I just got a custom build from High Caliber. It was a great experience. They have treated me like family every time that I have walked in. The way I was treated and spoken to was absolutely despicable. Never again. This was an FFL transfer. When I came in to pick it up, my background somehow failed. I just bought a gun here just a couple of months back. I appealed it and was told they would call me when it came back. Telling me this could take over a month (on their website states they are able to sell any FFL transfers after 30days) I waited a week and called. They told me nothing has come back yet, and they would call me when it did. I decided to call the TBI myself to figure out why I failed and the updated status on the appeal. I was told by the TBI that there were no discrepancies on my records, and they had actually emailed them a couple of days before. The TBI re-sent the email and told me that if they did not release the transfer, to call them back and they would handle it. When I called Nashville Armory, they stated they had received no emails and they would call me when it comes in. When I told them what the TBI said, they started to yell over the phone. I drove down there, fully intending on calling the TBI agent who left me his contact. The person that I spoke to on the phone was doing other things when I walked in. When I told him who I was, he proceeded to tell me he was going to call me, but it was apparent he didn't even check, and then proceeded to be a nasty little person. These are takers that work...
