North Coast Pinball — Local services in Nehalem

North Coast Pinball is an absolute gem. This is one of the friendliest, coziest and most welcoming places I've ever played. The games on the floor are well maintained. (Bonus credit for sharing technical updates and resolutions for the interested fellow nerds). They've got an epic variety of older and newer games. The love for pinball is apparent in the curation of this business from the custom coin holders, the pinball skill art on the walls, and the custom game notes inside each pin! This place feels like home and is such a breath of fresh air against poorly maintained ticket dispensing arcades & dimly lit barcades. Parking is easy, there is a small selection of snacks and beverages, comfy spots to hang out while you're taking a break, and they are incredibly helpful if you have a technical issue or question about a game. I haven’t been through Nehalem in a year or so, but today I came across this store and had to check it out. I think it’s pretty new. When I came across it, it felt like a very special place, a hidden treasure. As I entered, the owner greeted us. He was also the guy that services the pinball machines. Whether you are a pinball wizard or just an occasional player, this place has a great vibe to it. Machines are old school all the way up to more recent machines with the bells and whistles and video screens. It costs between 1-4 tokens to play. The store also has drinks if you get thirsty. The owner also uses his Prusa MK3S 3D printer to make token holders. I’m a Prusa lover as well. You can tell the owner isn’t just a businessman but a passionate player as well. Living in a small town on the coast, it’s not always easy to find a cool, fun place to have a birthday party for a kid indoors. I reached out to the owner while they were on a temporary shut down for repairs to see if they were up for a 6 year old’s birthday party the first weekend they’d be back open after a month. Will was so gracious and kind, gave me lots of different options and never made me feel like I was wasting his time.
