Bayway Tavern — Restaurant in Nehalem

OMG someone posted a picture of JoJos and since I am celebrating a trip around the sun they were a must! The bartender rocked her job and kept up commentary to let people feel relaxed and welcome.

The tavern has only just opened. It was already hopping with a few regulars, helps they have slot machines, keno, and power all available for entertainment. They also had pool table and outdoor seating of which we did not avail ourselves - too bad since the place since on the Nahelm River!

The JoJos did not make it to a photo - they were super hot and burned my mouth but oh so worth it. Automatically got ketchup and ranch and had not problem proving mustard - mmmm!!!

The beer on tap selection is small but has good coverage. They also have a wide variety in cans and bottles, plus cider and wine.

Loved this place. I call it a hole in the wall joint. A popular spot where the locals go to eat, socialize, and solve the pressing issues of the day, such as who has the best jojos( potato wedges) or the best place to go clamming. Angela the bartender and server was friendly, did the job well and had some fun banter about the regulars that were having lunch. The food was great. Our party ordered burgers, beer battered fries, I had a grilled cheese, too die for. They have a beer garden overlooking the water. Everyone was super nice, the place was quiet except for the chatting of the guests. Prices were reasonable, and overall I loved the whole experience. Will definitely return if I'm ever in Nehalem...

My husbanf and I called in a order of 3 Chicken and Jojos. After having to repeat myself 5 times. The person on the phone say 1 2 3 correct. I state yes 3. Person on the phone say ok 20 minutes. We arrive 30 minutes later asking for our order bartender laughs saying its not started. Husband orders a drink for himself and a drink for me. After the foid was done the bartender loudly says my husband nane ask about how many ranch for the meal. My husbanf asked me and the bartender yelled at my husvabd says how many ranch.
