Nothing has changed here since the 80s. NOTHING! It is good active (non-screen) fun. Cell signal is almost nonexistent, so they are forced to engage with each other. My kids love going and are learning new skills because some of the experienced are willing to teach them pointers. They have skates for sale. Music is mostly tasteful, didn't hear any swearing. Rollerblades and speed skates are allowed (can rent for $3-4 or bring your own, but rentals could be better maintained- brakes and bearings). They raised the prices recently and if i could see upgrades done like to the sound or speakers or something, i would say ok but nothing appears to be updated. (Why i went with 3 instead of 4*) Snacks are double the cost at a grocery store. Water bottle for $1 (drinking fountain is broken so must buy). No cards only cash. All my Kids had fun though, so i would allow them to go again if it keeps them out of trouble. They do a few games too so its not just going in circles. Watch out for little kids on the floor though. I was afraid i was going to hit some going...
Read moreMy daughter is a Type 1 diabetic she is 14 and my baby daughter is 10. The 14 yr. old told the 10 yr old that her blood sugar # was low and dropping, so my 10 yr old went to the snack bar and purchased a drink and food to bring her sister's sugar levels up. The girl in the snack bar told not to take the food to her sister my 10 yr old pleased w/her to let her take it out and she said ok but don't spill it. As my 10 yr old took the food and drink to my daughter she was stopped by a young man who told her she couldn't have food on the floor. She explained the girl in snack bar gave her permission but the girl recanted and NY 10 yr old had to go back out to the rink (mind you my 14 yr old blood sugar levels are going down) and physically pick my 14 yr old up and take her to the snack bar to drink and eat. When I confronted the gentleman in charge his was that kids will like to him about things like that and that his daughter was a type 1 diabetic also and when her #'s are low she can walk????. My kids and grandkids will never go to that...
