I shopped at Brookshire's only a few times before I moved to New Boston, TX. When I lived in Dallas, TX, I shopped at El Rancho, Fiesta, and many other grocery stores so that I would not have to shop at Walmart. It drives me crazy to spend my hard earned cash to buy groceries and be treated as if I am some type of miscreant. Walmart is notorious for hiring some of the most unpleasant people PERIOD!!! Brookshire's is the exact opposite of Walmart.
I have shopped at a few Brookshire's stores but I typically don't shop with them because let's face it, they are kind f expensive. There are so many people who are barely able to pay their bills and buy their medications. A trip to Brookshire's can wreck havoc on your budget. The up side of shopping at Brookshire's is the fact that they are very clean. The store is well organized. The produce is always so beautiful and fresh. The selection of regular and sale items is abundant. The most important part of shopping at Brookshire's is that the workers are so friendly. They seem eager to assist you. There is a store manager with gray hair and one with brown hair at the Brookshire's in New Boston, TX. These two men are so amazing. They go out of their way to take care of anyone who comes to their store. Any time I visit this store, they are working right along with their staff. They engage with all the customers who come to their store. I cannot emphasize enough just how much I love shopping at this store.
I live on a fixed budget. I am not originally from New Boston, TX. I never knew much about New Boston, TX until I moved here in 2016. I can say that I have consistently enjoyed the best customer service every time I visit this store. I don't expect these people to give me anything for which I am not paying. I hope and pray that this store stays the way it is for many years to come. I don't mind spending a little more money on my groceries because I know the people working at Brookshire's in New Boston, TX will take...
Read moreNew to the area and I am not impressed. I’ve lived a lot of places and have frequented similar grocery stores so I expect higher prices than at Walmart but here there is really a significant differential. Market Street is a comparable store but they have a much better selection and they bring your groceries out to your car so for paying a little higher price you’re at least getting more for what you’re paying. So as far as I can tell there’s no benefit to coming here.
The pharmacy advertises that it’s a Walgreens pharmacy but nothing is integrated. Even the employees told me it says Walgreens but they just run off Brookshire’s old system. So I am not sure why it says Walgreens.
The final and most significant reason for my low rating is the customer service. A couple weeks ago I needed to refill my 5 gallon water jugs. The Primo station at Dollar General was out and it was at Brookshire’s too. It was pulled out of the wall like it was being world on. So I went home and was going to just get it the next day. Next day arrived and I decided to call first to see if it was working. I called Brookshire’s and the first person said I am sure let me transfer you. So they did and the next employee said the same thing. So I had to drive over there to check that yes it was still broken. Dollar Generals was as well so I went to Walmart. The guy that stocks was rolling a cart in the back and he even stopped and made sure I knew how to use it and loaded my jug in my cart.
I usually hate going in Walmart but the Walmart here has the absolute nicest and most helpful staff of any Walmart and really most grocery stores I’ve been to. Every time I have been in there someone has offered to help me even without me asking. I just see no reason to spend extra money at this business when I can go to a Walmart of all places and have the best experience. There’s just no reason for me to ever come to Brookshire’s. There’s not one single reason that makes it a better option than...
Read moreBrookshire's in New Boston is the embodiment of the qualities that make small towns endearing. Store manager Mr. David Daniel is so popular and loved here people come from three states to see him. I swear he is our town mascot, not to mention a magician. In between greeting, laughing at jokes, and getting hugged by half the county the man is running around like a madman to run the store. Ms. Mary, the fine lady in the office, is as renown in these parts as Mr. Daniel. Everywhere she goes people greet her, many even stopping to talk a while. She has been there with Mr. Daniel almost from the opening of the original store and is loved by all. Assistant manager Mr. Coe is a very hard-working man that takes great pride in doing each task to the best of his ability. He is, as well, a good man that eagerly assists in any way he can. I could go on and on about employees such as Norma that comes in on her day off to finish birthday cakes and add loving touches to make them a bit more special, or Linda that is always happy to help customers find what they are looking for even though she's busily stocking shelves, or Ms. Barbara that you sometimes wish would be a little slower checking so you could talk a while longer, or Kathy out in the gas kiosk that answers the phone with a sing-song voice and so cheerfully you are almost tempted to call when you are having a bad day so she can put you in a better mood. These people are the fabric of our town. They not only make our grocery shopping experience a pleasure, but they do Brookshire's, the...
