Bad Dad Custom Motorcycles — Local services in New Haven

I did many months of research on purchasing a stretched rear fender and bags and finally decided on Bad Dad Custom Motorcycle. I watched installation videos on several websites and found the Bad Dad rear end stretchkit to be the most user friendly install of all the sites/companies. I also called Bad Dad several times before placing the order. I spoke to John and Scott and they were patient and extremely helpful on the questions I asked. Once ordered I was kept informed of the progress including the matching Harley-Davidson paint add which Bad Dad was running a special. The rear end kit was shipped before expected date and arrived in 3 large boxes. Packing was exceptional as each part was covered in a pillow case and foam to protect against shipping damage. I also did a lot of research on new exhaust systems since the stock exhaust would not fit with the new rear end kit. I finally decided on Bad Dad Custom exhaust because the reviews were excellent and I liked the look especially that the end cap turned away from the rear bag (a Bad Dad custom designed exhaust). During the installs I had several questions and I called Bad Dad and spoke to John. John was again patient and walked me through the steps which worked great. I had a mishap with one of the bags and damaged it in my garage. I called Bad Dad and spoke to John. I shipped the bag back and Bad Dad repaired and repainted at an extremely reasonable price. The bag was shipped back to me in 10 days and looked great. I plan to purchase the chin guard with matching paint next. I would STRONGLY recommend Bad Dad for all Custom Motorcycle parts as their staff and customer service is OUTSTANDING! The quality of the parts including predrilled holes and placement...

Quality doesn't match the price. I purchased the Street Series forward control kit with rider and passenger floorboards as the design caught me as soon as I saw it and I knew it belonged on my bike. It is definitely forward controls and attach at the front lower corner of the frame. I originally called with some questions before purchasing and I was told that they were actually mid controls. But forward controls this set is without a doubt. Mid controls have the shifter coming out of the middle of the primary. When I received the parts I noticed that the chrome plating was coming off in one small area. I was expecting impressive top quality products due to the price they charge, almost double the next highest price similar product from a different company. But no, they are not higher quality than the other average forward controls. The grip on the floorboards is also coming off in all four places and the adhesive they use has a foam that makes any type of glue ineffective. Had to remove this and then the 3M adhesive worked well. All in all, their products are worth about 1/4 to maybe 1/3 of what they're charging. From the initial order through the installation process, and even questions once the rear fender kit that I ordered was installed, the customer service from the Bad Dad Team was exceptional. Specifically, John Adams was not only helpful, but also patient, professional, and kind. The product itself is absolutely flawless. I highly recommend that anyone looking to spruce up their motorcycle make Bad Dad a regular part of their internet browsing history. This was money well spent, in my opinion, and I am certain that I will order from Bad Dad again...
