Pizza Di Farfalla Review – A Hidden Gem in the Neighborhood
As someone who grew up in Chicago surrounded by legendary bar pies and deep dish classics, I’ve eaten my fair share of pizza. I’ve hit up some of the iconic spots Dave Portnoy has reviewed—John’s of Bleecker Street, Joe’s Pizza, Aurelio’s in Homewood—and I can honestly say Pizza Di Farfalla stands tall with the best of them.
Tucked away in a warehouse-style neighborhood, this place has a unique vibe—a coffee shop right next to a bar, with a pizza joint that feels like a well-kept secret. But make no mistake: the pizza is front and center.
The crust? Outstanding. Super crispy with that perfect balance of crunch and chew—exactly what you hope for when you take that first bite. The cheese was rich and melted just right, while the sauce packed real flavor. Honestly, I wish there was just a bit more sauce on the pies, but that’s a personal preference more than a complaint.
The toppings were on point. The sausage was seasoned beautifully, and the cupped pepperoni with hot honey and a dab of ricotta—wow. That combination brought the whole thing together. The heat from the honey, the creamy coolness of the ricotta, and the savory spice of the pepperoni was just chef’s kiss.
Living in New Lenox my whole life, I never thought I’d find a pizza place like this just down the road. But here we are—and I’ll absolutely be back. Pizza Di Farfalla is the real deal. If you’re a pizza lover, this place is worth every slice.
Score: 8.6/10 (Yeah, I just went full Portnoy with that one.)
P.s the staff was so nice and the head chef in the back literally thanked everyone who came up to the stand to by their pizza. He would yell their name and say thank you for coming. Awesome experience! We will be...

The pizza restaurant is in an odd strip mall, then located in the back of a coffee shop called Gost Coffee. I ordered pick up through their website and my order was ready at the specified time. In the restaurant section itself there are only a few tables. But you are able to also sit anywhere in the coffee house or their patio. So no lack of seating.
The atmosphere in the coffee house is quirky. Employees have shadow boxes of their favorite things. There are gratitude journals you can write in or read what others have wrote. There is a Lego wall. And a full DJ set up. It was interesting to just walk around and look at the random stuff collected there.
I ordered 2 pizza. The sausage and mushrooms and the cupped pepperonis, ricotta cheese dollops, and hot honey. I preferred the second one. The salty pepperonis with the creamy ricotta with the sweet honey was a treat. The pizzas are thin and crispy like Dave Portnoy likes them.
Dave Portnoy said in his review that it was worth a 90 minute drive from the city. I don’t know about that. However, I felt it was worth the 45 minute drive from the suburb I live in. And the no hassle on-line ordering system helps that out since I know my pizza will be ready when I get there (if I time...

The aroma of fresh dough, bubbling cheese, and rich, flavorful sauce filled the air, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable dining experience. The pizza? Absolutely perfect. The crust was everything it should be—golden, crisp on the outside, yet soft and airy on the inside. The cheese was the real deal—melty, gooey, and packed with flavor. And the mushrooms? Freshly sliced, adding the perfect touch to an already flawless creation. But the star of the show? The sauce. Bursting with rich, tangy goodness, every bite had my taste buds dancing with excitement.
And let’s not forget the garlic and cheese knots—a must-try! Made with fresh garlic and topped with just the right amount of cheese, they were warm, soft, and absolutely addictive. To top it all off, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place that gets every detail right, but this pizza shop has mastered the art of pizza-making. If you love pizza, do yourself a favor and make this your next stop. You...
