I own a pioneer xdj xz controller that’s less then a year old. I used it 7-8 times in that timeframe and noticed that the low frequency sound effect led wasn’t lit and wouldn’t come on at all. I reached out to where I bought the unit from and they got pioneer involved. Pioneer authorized a repair to a shop of my choice that they worked with. The closest one was in Brooklyn Ny. I live in central NJ. Pioneer said I had to pay shipping both ways and have insurance on the unit for the amount of its worth. It was almost $700 to have this thing shipped both ways. I figured it would be easier to find a shop in Nj and pay outta pocket and it would be faster and cheaper then shipping it to Brooklyn. I googled repair shops in Nj and found John’s shop. I spoke to John and he assured me he could do the repair. I dropped it off the next day and heard back from him in the middle of the week. He said the led was burnt out and he ordered the new one. I authorized him to replace the other two lights as well since it was open already. Well the led burnt out again and he said I had another issue. I asked him to continue to find out what’s wrong with my controller and he found out there was a bad resistor. He replaced that and Walla problem solved!!! John is amazing and updates you EVERY STEP OF THE WAY with pictures and texts and videos!!!! I am a customer for life with Music Pro Tech LLC!!! In October 2025 I contacted MusicProTech asking if they could change a handful of capacitors on a subwoofer amplifier PC Board. (The subwoofer would not power on which apparently happens over time with the subwoofer to the point that the manufacturer publishes a list of capacitors to replace for this problem)

They said yes, gave me a price and I proceeded with the job dropping off the amplifier and capacitors (which I had obtained ahead of time) at their shop.

Long story short about week later they contacted me saying the job was completed and I returned to the shop to pick up my amplifier. Before handing the amplifier back to me the tech explained to me the work he performed pointing out each capacitor that was replaced and really how he reassembled it to the point that you’d never know it was worked on. He also shared with me the capacitors that were removed which wasn’t necessary but to me was a demonstration of his thoroughness of doing a complete job.

Returning home with the amplifier I reinstalled it in the subwoofer and voilà, my subwoofer was working again.

MusicProTech is run by a gifted engineer who is also reliable, thorough, fast, and a friendly, gracious person. The electronics repair/refurbishment job that he did for me was very challenging and I had tried to bring it to a number of other local repair shops before finding MusicProTech. Every other shop examined my electronics and failed to get the job done - telling me that the boards that I wanted to have fixed were beyond repair. Then I found MusicProTech. He rebuilt my 44 year old Moog electronics boards for me and they are now working perfectly, sounding better and running quieter than they did when they were brand new.
