VFW Post 4290 — Local services in New Milford

DO NOT RENT AN EVENT HALL FROM THESE PEOPLE!! We rented this event hall for our baby shower this past weekend; booked this months ago. First off they are absolutely terrible at responding. There were several questions unanswered prior to our event starting. Second, they are all about the money and will do ANYTHING to get some extra out of you. We paid $600 for a 4 hour event, and we were told that as long as there are no other events that we could have as much time for set up and clean up that we needed. Okay.. so the day of the event (event is 2pm-6pm) we met the lady to pay the $600 and start setting up at 8am. We set up, had our event, and every single person was gone by 6pm as agreed upon and we began cleaning up. The commander shows up at 7pm and starts getting upset that we haven’t left yet. We rush to clean up and we are back home by 7:48pm. I get An email stating that we owe them an extra $100 because we were given 1 hour after the event to clean up and vacate and that at 8pm the commander had to tell people to leave.
