I waited a couple of months to write this review. HVAC and myself have a tenuous relationship that has been an inexplicable bane of our existence as a small business for twenty years. I blame myself for focusing on the negative—possibly some shoddy work and a few bad actors in a city I've found is mostly above ground, forthright and transparent in all other dealings. Chris and his team at Air Rescue seem to have found the kryptonite to my curse:
From the outset on meeting him, I found Chris to be a pretty chill guy giving me the information I needed without beating me over the head with HVAC terminology that would make my brain spin until I just said yes... He cared more that I was making the right choice for myself and my business than scoring the deal. If you know, you know. This is a pretty delightful way to enter into a larger project in NYC with years long implications for a business. With a guarantee of two years of his labor on his work—and the above stated personality points, I signed on.
I waited to write the review to make sure the condenser unit he installed was actually gonna work. And that the splits in our salon we're up to the task—The condenser works and the splits, cleaned and fixed up by Chris, are blowing cool air even when all of our heat generating tools are full-blast.
Saying I appreciate Chris and his thorough, attentive work would be an understatement. I wish he did a bunch of other things I could hire him for, frankly.
I love the old salty-dog, cigarette wreaking, grey skinned NYC laborers this town has to offer—but in this case, It was nice to have someone up to date, professional who seemed to just want to get the job done and do it right and knew how to navigate the modern world.
I would recommend Chris—and will recommend Chris to all of my downtown business compatriots—for all things...
Read more   Read moreIf it was possible to leave 0 stars I would. Chris replaced our water heater 5 months ago. 2 weeks ago when it stopped working, he talked me through attempting to light the pilot on the phone, and sent someone out the next morning to confirm it would need a part. He told me the part would have to be ordered, and that the water heater was more than a year old (out of warranty and would cost us $500). Fast forward 2 weeks, to our scheduled appointment for the repair at 8am, no one shows. When called, they were delayed until 2pm, when again no one shows. Since our last conversation, where I was able to prove and confirm the original installation date, as the product IS still under warranty, I have since had zero communication for the last 2 days, and my number has been blocked. They are not answering calls or emails from any number, and now I have read multiple reviews citing the same problems. While avoiding me in particular, Chris has intermittently continued text communication with my mother, lying to her about how he will be at the house, how he was sent the wrong part, and how he's out trying to buy it "out of his own pocket". This has been a MOST frustrating and disgusting experience. I have given them every opportunity to honor their work and warranty, having been without hot water for over 2 weeks now. I would not recommend this...
First of all they responded really fast and professionally. The call was answered right away and appointment was setup on the spot. No calling back drama. Rudy was very on time. My heater was not working for a week and Rudy came and quickly determined that was only the controller's problem. They were not trying to sell me any unnecessary services.
He told me that he can sell me a new controller and after I told him I have a new Nest controller and not sure if it would work, he quickly said he will make it work and only charged me installation fee. He even made some adjustments on my heater's wiring to make it work better with new controller. Again, very professional and not trying to sell you any unnecessary services or products.
Email receipts was sent right after they got back to office that day. I will definitely hire them again for any heating or...
