Larry Fireplace and Chimney — Local services in New York

I've called many companies and Harris seemed to be the only one willing to do the job. We spoke for a while about how companies aren't even calling people back to deny work and how communication was a key part of business.

After Harris came to look at the job, he said he could do it, gave a verb estimate. He said he'd give an official estimate and then began - avoiding the job with any excuse possible.

1st is was we can schedule in 2 weeks, then it was we're backed up with previously booked jobs, then his worker got hurt (i even expressed my concern for that worker).

Then it was I'll get the estimate over to you from quick books, then its, "we're so busy, o don't know how long you can wait" - he wished he had a "time machine" ...

Technician came to my house for maintenance, after arriving late they just dry vac and cleaned the glass. I asked them to replace the rocks and embers. His response was “ I don’t have my truck so I don’t have any tools or parts”. So I (the customer) gets screwed. The main reason I called was for them to clean the vent leading outside. I have a newborn coming so wanted to make sure everything is safe. He argued that they never clean the vents. I used them 3 times in the past 5 years and they cleaned it every time. I was charged over 200 dollars for something I could’ve done myself. When I called the office they assured me they would call me back to make this right. Haven’t heard from them since. We moved into our home 6 years ago and never had a functioning fireplace. There was a large insert in place that had a broken exhaust pipe. Harris and his team removed the old insert, replaced the inside of the chimney and installed a new wood burning insert. Not only is the insert beautiful but it heats the house! Our National Grid bill has never been lower in the Winter! They also put on a beautiful stone facade and a reclaimed beam for a mantle. They also repaired a second chimney we have for the furnace that was falling apart. Harris and his team were so easy to work with. I highly recommend them!
